simple nitrous question

PS!
Potential Scammer!
does the zex wet 55 shot kits for hondas work with the protege mp3..

Im assuming that the 50\55 shot zex wet is safest for our engine please correct me if i am wrng i am in the process of finding a "safe" kit for sale.

im not sure, but if your going to run nitrous, you need retarted timing, if you really want to run nitrous, i will swap ECU's with you so you get the retarted timing, let me know! ill travel to do the swap.

its not; are you sure?? well god damnit, if you want to swap ECU's to make me happy, that would kick ass.

i mean you do not need to retard the timing to run nos, i am thinking of running nos. The only thing about the timing is you just have to watch out for detonation. I recommend the nitrous express kit which has adjustable 35 50 and 75 shots. Oh yea you also have to run colder spark plugs.

colder spark plugs? as in lower power or somthing, my buddies use 50 shot in ther hondas i want to keep mine around there too and sue a wet kit i hear it safe, will the mp3 realy detonate? what happens when it detonates?

ok first off its not NOS that is the acronim for Nitrous Oxide Systems the company you need to refer to it as N2O. As for zex use it and you will blow your motor......most every protege that has run a dry type Nitrous setup has blown their motor if you want to run a "safe" nitrous setup I would highly suggest you get a NX single fogger wet kit and you will be safe up to about a 75 shot.

hi guys!

as said before, DO NOT use the cheap ass Zex Dry Kit on an MP3, you WILL blow your motor

use a wet kit, the highest shot i would recommend on a wet kit is a 75 shot, but i dont know about an MP3 due to the advanced timing i would recommend a 50 at most, unless you want to take a chance

and about swapping ecu's, the mp3 ecu is kinda pointless on a p5 and i dont think swapping the ecu on a mp3 would be worth the hassle just to get a bit of retarded timing to run nitrous, but oh well, not my cars

i been preaching NX ever since ive been on any Protege forums, check the sig

how much the nx fogger system cost?? is that direct port injection?? just wondering as i am interested in nitrous also....i will be running it with turbo, any suggestions?

alright..im running nitrous and right now via a venom system..here are some thoughts.. ZEX..first off, is not a cheap ass N20 system, that is just ignorance telling you otherwise. Currently there are no N20 systems designed specificly for P5/MSP/MP3's.. The system im running right now is the Venom VCN-1000 w/ the 400 controller. Now, that system is still in R&D, im guinea pigging it. The system was designed for a Focus since they share basically the same motor. Now, as for what you'll need to run N20..its quite simple..depending on how you approach it, computer/throttle controlled (ZEX, VENOM) or button style powershot (NOS, Edelbrock, Nitrousworks) I would definetly recommend using a computer controlled system..just due to the ease of install and how it "adapts" to your motor's capabilities. With powershot you would need to have a deeper understanding of your motors capabilites and you'd be looking into ignition systems, etc..Right now, the only way you'll be able to set up a realiable and "safe" N20 system would be by retrofitting the focus ZX3 kit. Im sure VENOM would walk you through it. As for the ECU, that wouldn't make much difference for you. If and when you get this system, make sure you pick up Venom's 400 controller, it helps your motor push out extra power and allows it to work smoother with the N20..Let me know if you have any other questions. -Kyle

hey pd where'd you get your kit and how much was it, also what size bottle you running, you have a heater, purge and etc?
I am seriously looking at this kit as an alternative to turbo.
