I happen to love my Eibachs, this is the third set I have had on several different cars, they offer a moderate drop with good performance spring rates.

If you want more comfortable then you can try the RB springs, the Eibachs are definitely stiffer than stock and you can feel it on very rough roads.

I believe you can get the eibach's through your dealership as the mazdaspeed lowering kit. They're just relabeled eibach's. Doesn't work like that here in the US though.

Crap lol, I had everything planed on my "what to buy parts list", now this Eibach at a good price for my MZ2 (wiggle). Thanks for the link, I'm at 90% sure I'll get the Eibach since it drops a little more than the RB. If I don t like the ride I ll buy the RB and sell the Eibach

Yea, oddly enough the eibach's are the only springset I haven't heard any complaints about. I think I would have gone that route if it weren't for the springs that came on my miata...they were eibachs and I didn't like them (I think they were the sportlines though, too low and too soft). They also had a reputation for sagging on the miata forum. The other couple sets of pro-kit springs I used on previous cars I was happy with.

Sportline sucks, I had them on my MS3. I sold them and bought a used set of Corksport. I had Pro kit on my Focus ZX3 and it was perfect, they matched the Koni's perfectly.
My Miata had RB race springs, Tokico struts/shocks, RB swaybars...best set-up I think for the Gen1 MX-5.

Installed: CS Shocks/Struts, CS Exhaust, CS Front Sway Bar, Rear 10mm track+spacers and... CS Short Shift Kit! I'll write more soon, but initial thoughts: Shocks/struts are excellent. A must-have. These paired with the H&Rs give a supremely comfortable and balanced drive - at least if not MORE comfortable than the Racing Beat springs with stock shocks. Exhaust. I notice immediately improved throttle response across the range. Haven't had any chance to push it though, due to inclement weather. Front Sway Bar. The car is FLAT in turns. Short Shift Kit. Very nice feel - I would estimate shifting effort is increased by ~30%. The throw begins from the same spot up front (1,3,5) but the row backwards (from 1-2 and 3-4) is WAY shorter, ending at close to where neutral used to be. You definitely have to retrain yourself to believe you're already in 2nd. Very nice piece!

Another interesting observation: The CS shocks/struts change the appearance of the H&R drop. On the stock shocks/struts the drop with H&Rs looks nose-lower-than-tail, very noticeably. On the CS shocks/struts, the drop with the H&Rs is DEAD even. The car is totally flat, rear drop and front drop look exactly the same, and the drop in the rear matches the drop in front. It's a subtle difference, but looks very purposeful and balanced. I'll follow up with photos soon.

I did go crazy on parts(rockon). I've actually been slowly saving up to have the install done. I bought the front sway bar, exhaust and spacers as used parts back in September and October, and I already had the H&R springs from the summer. The short shift kit was a last minute thing that happened when I showed up for the install, which was a nice surprise. As soon as the weather de-craps down here, I'll get some new photos posted. The 10mm spacers on the rear get the look exactly right between fronts and rears in relation to the body, that definitely helps dial the look in...

Good stuff. I think your exhaust is the one I lost out on since I'm on the other side of the country....I was wondering if someone on here was going to get it. You should have done the FSB separately from the shocks though to get the full effect, its impressive.

Eyeballs, I ended up buying my exhaust from unzip along with his wheel spacers. Hope that wasn't the same one (eek2). Managed to get my fsb from pearlspeedwagon (you tipped me off on that one!). I would have liked to do the fsb separately to feel the difference, but having everything installed at the same time was a major time and money saver for me. Since moving to my house a few years ago, I don't have anywhere to do installs of that sort. No basement, so the garage is now the de-facto basement, and a driveway that is a hill. I love the learning process of installing, but it's so unsafe to attempt it here. I can really only do the small stuff at home, unfortunately. Hence, Corksport being local = major bonus!(wiggle)

Yea it was unzip's exhaust...I was waiting on a shipping quote to make sure we were OK on sale price and then he found a "local buyer." I was dissapointed but completely understand how much easier that made the sale for him. I'd have done the same thing probably.

Its a bummer about not having a place to fiddle with the car, takes some of the fun out it and can nearly double the cost of modifications. Although having corksport nearby is a huge advantage. You need to find a friendly neighbor with a good garage setup!
