Sienna and Mazda5 - Front end twins

So maybe this is just me, but has anyone else noticed the striking similarily between the Sienna and Mazda5 front ends? Headlights and grills are almost identical right down to the badge placement and while slightly different in the openings, the bumpers have a pretty similar shape too. I'm sure it's nothing more than coincidence, but just an observation.

I am constantly mistaking Sienna's coming straight at me for 5's. Once they pass you see they are much larger. But, I agree very similar look from the front.

Except that the 5 is a much more cool ride. (cool)

Trust me, I know. We sold our '05 Sienna with only 15000 kms. in favor of the Brilliant Black Beauty that we currently have. (drive)

Brought the fun back to my daily commute!!!

it's similar but the angle of the front end is much different and the 5 is much much better looking and not as "soccer mom" as the sienna.

This I do agree with... the 5 is 'sharper' and the Sienna is stubbier.

I can see similarities but the differences are more noticeable...to me.

Similar shaped headlights. Single bar grille with a round emblem. That's about it for me. Lower grille and lip on Mazda is much sportier, and not even similar to me.

Yeah, I mean, I'm not saying they're IDENTICAL. But definately enough to make me to a double take when spotting a Sienna on the road.

Glad to see I'm not the only one with this problem... I think there is a lot of similarity and I'm constantly doing doubletakes. Up close, sure, there's a lot of differences (the 5 is smaller, lower, and much cooler), but when you're zoom-zooming around it's a tough first call.
