Should the G8 become the Chevy Camaro SS Sedan?

Luckily it's only a matter of time until we can avoid this debate of what to call it...Hopefully GM will be dead and gone before they have to worry about keeping it or not.

GM's not going anywhere. They just have a lot of re-organizing to do, and a lot of blood to clean up after they stick a knife in the hearts of Pontiac, Saturn, Hummer and Buick.

Buick is too big in China to get rid of.

I agree with others: keep it as a Chevy but don't call it a Camaro.

And God, I just don't understand how anyone could have purchased the miserable last gen Monte Carlo. It's hideous, and it's a steaming pile of pooh. I wouldn't own one if they gave it to me.

def do NOT call it a camaro...

I say keep it as the G8... just a chevy

and if and when they do make it as a chevy Nascar should implement that as the "name" on their chevy cars

I agree with this guy. This car would bring respect back to Impala name plate. Power, handling and good looks too! That would be a car that you could be proud to say is a chevy Impala.

Let it be the new Impala and kill the lame-duck FWD Impala we have now. This car is available from a bare-bones yet respectable V6 sedan all the way up to a pavement scorching 400+hp V8 BMW killer, so there'd be an Impala for everyone's taste.

There's never been a Camaro sedan and there never should be, much in the same way the BMW 6-series or 8-series coupes have never been sedans. The M3 is available as a sedan because the chassis it's based on is designed to be both.

Did you ever see the one that Lingenfelter did? RWD with like 600hp. I tried to find it on the net but came up dry. I think it was green. Man it was nice!

I kinda liked the Monte Carlo when it was a 2-door Lumina.

I'm with Mikey on this one.

I think it's been long enough that no one will get confused:

64 FTW :D

No, but serious, stop calling it a popular name hoping it will stick and people will buy it, just call it by its original name

The name Camaro on a Commodore will really piss off the enthusiasts and the GM "knowledgeable" buyers in general...

I say stick with the old GM nameplates. Chevelle, Nova, Impala, any of the old ones that at least were produced with four doors.

Can't call it a Monte Carlo since it has four doors though. There's never been a four door Monte, that would be sacrilegious.

Monte Carlo? Talk about dirtied... Probably not a good idea to resurrect a name that Chevrolet ruined so badly. But, I guess they are re-using "Camaro" after they ran the last F-body into the ground...
