If I remember correct you can't repo in WI. like in most states, but I would think that if there was a lien on the vehicle you would not be able to transfer the title. (legally that is) and then there would always be a balance of the unit and your credit would show a charge off. Also, if the balance is greater than $10,000 most auto finance companies would take it to legal...

Not that it matters, but..there is other collateral attached to the loan, so whatever I can sell if it for, i just send the check to the bank, and they release the title to the new owner. End of story. The financial details aren't anyones business obviously. Nothing fishy about it, just a standard car loan.

That's probably why having the title up-front would make the transaction smoother, i.e. no delays. Now I'm sure everything would be real smooth with you, but you can't trust everyone to do the right thing.

It's a credit union, and they are far more lienant than banks. Regardless, I covered my bases before I decided to sell. The title is sitting on my desk.

Their asking price is something like $16k, but I found a few things to note about it:
1. The radio is "broken". the faceplate will not flip up to load a cd or fold back.
2. it has an aftermarket injen intake. I am not sure what else has been modded on it.
3. the shifter has been replaced with some kind of short shifter.
None of the stock parts that were replaced are included, I don't think. Do you think these mods affect warranty? Should the price be any lower? What would you pay?

i was listening for the "clunk" but i didn't hear it. i briefly looked at the bushings, and they did look kind of worn, but i didn't really know what to look for there.
also, is it normal for the engine/turbo to sound like it is blowing out air until you get to like 4000rpm when the turbo kicks in?
