should i change Exhaust

I've got the JIC exhaust and the AWR header on right now. The exhaust went of first and made the car sound a lot more throaty. After adding the header, the sound stayed about the same, just got louder. Actually, right after the header was on, I drove to see friends in Greensboro (2 hrs away) and drove home later that night. I wanted to put a bullet in my brain on the ride home. It droned horribly. I found that putting in the silencer for long trips makes it a TON better. I recently went to Charleston (3.5 hrs away) and it was a little louder than stock, but didn't drone or get buzzy or anything. Hope that helps.

lol if you have the racing beat don't worry, it's an actualy muffler, ie, nothing is as quiet as it. JIC and HKS both are ultra tiny mufflers, racing beat has a large muffler cannister

i have the jic muffler, it is a straight through design. It is basically a 3" resonator. I have a turbo, 2 radom technology highflow cats, a magna flow resonator and a jic canister/muffler. Mine sounds great, if i put the silencer in my exhaust it is real quiet.

B4 i had the turbo and high flow cats with no resonator and it was too loud with out the silencer. The highflow resonator really helped.

yep, defintly a resriction in air flow. Thats why i was sure to mention it.

But I thought that the RB exhaust was inherently quieter?? And my setup isn't all that bad around town or on the highway, it's just long trips at a constant speed makes it kinda drone. I went to a wedding two weeks ago with 4 other people in the car and no one really complained. One of the girls did say that it felt funny to talk as her voice kinda vibrated (she was in the back seat). All it really did to me was take the sound I was already making and make it a little louder. Not too much to worry about.
