ive seen like 3 diffrent headers, Racing Mazda, umm some other one lol, and the essential speed (donno if its made for turbo) i know theres the 4-1, 4-2-1, wich is better i did searches i got very confused.

ractive, rm, and awr. those are the only 3 in quasi production. the ractives are coming soon. the rm has samples floating around, and the awr is in wide production. since the only 4-1 header right now is the ractive, and no one has dyno'd it, it's hard to say which is better. the awr gives about 11-12whp gains at the top end. the whole power band is also shifted up a tad.

i like my racingmazda, but they are ******* people in a group buy right now so im boycotting their products.

i'm curious as to how much noise you add by getting a new header?
some exhausts can produce annoying sounds.

mind numbing. ask ryanjayg he rode behind my loud ass car for 3.5 hrs on the way to dallas and on the way back.

yeah the only thing making our car sound nice and deep with small can exhausts are the two cats the car has, when you get a header your car will start to sound loud and buzzy,

I have a header with no cat either so I'm in the middle of ricey and loud and nice, so, sometimes I hate how it sounds.... sometimes. I'd only suggest something as small as the HKS exhaust if you, a) either are going to keep your exhaust manifold and cat, or B) if you have a turbo or plan on going turbo. Turbos run in your exhaust system and act like a muffler as well, and deepen the sound of the car.

In conclusion, keep the quality mazsdaspeed sport muffler and just get a header. I suggest Ractives.

how much louder would you say it is than just the hks? i'm sure most of the noise came from the removal of the cats. the stock resonator won't help out that much.

yea the removal of the cats was the cause of the noise. i still have my stock resonater.

how would you say the noise/sound/buzz/drone increased? doubled the noise? tripled the noise?

probably triple or quadruple without silencer, double or triple with

If you retained one of the cats but used a High-flow cat, wouldn't that keep the same performance but help muffle the sound?

depends on the hiflow cat, the more flow it is, the ricier you will sound. I have an OBX hi flow header which is just a chrome pipe that goes straight through really, so it only barely deepened the sound. it expands about an inch. Keep in mind all my pipe is 2.5" and the hiflow cat is as well
