Should I be able to hear my turbo in a stock MSP? Before I bought this car I saw a Cobalt SS turbo edition in traffic. I know I definitely heard it's turbo and bov. My Mazzie is stock from what I can tell and i know i don't hear a turbo sound like i did on the cobalt ss. What should it sound like?

Most stock turbo cars are pretty quiet... beyond possibly hearing the rush of air as the turbo spools up, i doubt you'll hear very much inside the cabin. It may be more audible from outside the cabin though... same goes for the cobalt ss i'd imagine......the driver of that car may well have been thinking the very same thing.

A stock MSP doesn't have a BOV; it has a BPV.

There is a definite sound almost like the pitch of a dog whistle. I remember hearing it when I test drove my car. It's not loud but still audible.

If you want to hear your turbo get aluminum hard pipes and a sri and then you will be able to here the turbo spool up inside the car

yeah dude when i put my sri on that i was like holy s*** im gonna get a ticket for this hahaha jk but seriously. get hardpipes

you should definitely hear the turbo(especially with windows down) as it spools up around 4,000-4,500rpm and makes a high pitched "whistle." and then the "turkey" noise when you let your foot off the accelerator. but no "psssht" since(as mentioned) there is no BOV on the stock setup.

actually mine only turkey gobbles when i shift. when i back off the gas so slowly so the car doesnt jerk it sounds like it vents

sure, you get the turkey when you shift because you take your foot completely off the gas. it closes the throttle and causes air to back up into the turbo blades. if you slow down gradually, or have your foot on the accelerator at all there will be no gobble gobble...

lolz im in the habit of doing that before i shift now. i get paranoid my turbo is gonna blow or somethin like that
