Kartboy is the best! I still want to know why I am getting this howl/whistle after installing though. Tom, any ideas?

I agree. I like my KB ss, bushing and knob. I'm getting that 'whistling, too. It's like a real high pitched little rattle. It mostly occurs when I let my foot off the throttle with the car in gear and the clutch engaged. If I disengage the clutch, it goes away. I'm thinking that I made a boo boo when I originally installed my bushing. The whole stud backed out of the tranny and I just screwed it back in. I'm now thinking that there may have been a washer in there that is loose and rattling. not sure though.

Bubb Rubb in tha hoooow

Good Question on the noise. did you check to make sure the shifter isnt hitting the heatshield? did you transfer the rubber boot from the OE to the Kartboy? did you grease the shifter ball in the center before putting the plastic cups on?

ours has been dead quite for 20K+.

here's what the shifter bushings look like installed

I just got a few promo TWM shifters in the mail...
I will let you know. One thing that I find is a big selling point is that they use the stock knob thread.

What do you want to see? Once installed, only thing you can notice is a shorter arm.

Here's a pic before install.

Heh, no, not a sponsorship.. I just want to test the product. I saw them few months ago @ an auto show... at any rate, if u look up @ the banner you should see their banner on rotation with others... Like I said, I will keep you guys/girls informed.

got a new shift knob ! anyways this is a pic of the kartboy shifter installed, pretty short eh?

I have TWM and ill fully back it to anyone who wants to know about it. The guys have worked hard to make the shorter prefect for the Protege's, nice group too, young guys making a good go of it in the buisness - they should have some other stuff out soon as well - i think

The guys also are spending money here obviously if there banner is on the top of the site

I wanna know more about TWM shifters... How good is the ball bearing one? Is it worth the extra $ ?

Anybody got a pic of the TWM installed? I like the height of the stock shifter and don't want to go too much lower in height.

GS

Then i suggest to get the B&M, it is the longest above the ball.

Here's a side by side (maybe not terribly accurate) view of some currently available SS for the MP5. I did this to get an idea of the differences in height between the stock and aftermarket levers. Kartboy appears to be the smallest with B&M being the tallest.

Im sure Im not the only who noticed but this isnt a real picture. I didnt think it was such a problem but I got my kartboy today and the difference between stock isnt as big as it looks like in this picture.

Here is a picture I took tonight of the difference between stock(without extension) and kartboy.
