Shifter Problem

I has now happened to me twice, once while on the highway after pulling into a gas station, and once while just drinving around the city. I notice that my shifter will feel like there is sand or someting grinding at the base of the stick. The shifts get very squeaky and unsmooth. I also noticed that now there still seems to be a faint squeak normally, but i dont remember if thats how its always been. What is going on with the car? Any ideas? It seems to last about 10-15 minutes ech time .......................this sucks

uhh i really don't have any shifter problems (or anyothers for that matter), but some members have changed their fluid to redline. they said is smooths out the shifter.

when i say nowmally i meant even when i am not having this problem, i still hear a definite sqeuak in the shiftre base

only one way to find out wuts wrong pop off the shifterboot and see wuts up maybe dust is collected there, or maybe it is sand or salt depending on wear you live.
