Shift knob from MAZDA3 s 5-Door

It's like an optical illusion... But I can't take my eyes off it.

It's actually a satin finish with a polished clearcoat.

The pic at the dealer URL looks like polished chrome and the description says polished. However, the actual knob is better shown in the pics posted by SHOEL1CK.

It is very nice.

That shift knob is one and the same, indeed. And yes, the 3 and 6 both have the same shift knobs, however, I know the 6 with the manual comes with various different colours for the interior, so there's one knob, at least, that's wrapped in light tan leather rather than black. =)

the mazda3 one is heavier but for some strange reason, because of its slight added weight, it gives the stick a better feel to each throw. Or maybe Im nuts. Whatever, it looks smashing. :)

I just wish the pattern was chrome. I hear that the original design was chrome-like, but chipped/wore out with use for many owners. As a result, Mazda changed to the satin covered gloss that SHOEL1CK had in his pictures.

I ordered the Mazda 3 shift knob from Finish Line Performance today. I'll check in when I install it (2 weeks from now).

Edit: It shipped today. =)

Hi, guys.

I have installed mine and I like the feel/look better. Screw old off, screw new on. The leather is nice and is not as cold. The round, hard plastic ball was a little more slippery.

Weight-wise, the add'l weight in the new knob is not significant enough to change the shift feel. It's not like some Momos.

All in all, a nice mod if you like the look of this knob.

I installed my Mazda3 shift knob today and I really like it. =)

It's a BIG step up from the plastic ball shifter in my 2002 P5.
