mazda 626 LX
hey,

i own a 98 mazda 626, and i wanted to know if anybody here has ever bought anything of shaneracing, i wanna get the mazdaspeed cams (intake + exhaust).

also if you know any other interchangable performance parts let me know

(my 626 is a 2.0L I4, automatic)

thanks

yeah theres a 626 forum, but i asked people there and they said to try a protege forum about the shaneracing, since they make parts for the protege

if i got my car up to 200 hp at the engine, would i have to replace my tranny, or could i get an tranny cooler, and that would be enough???

Naw man, that was from Edwin, he was pointing out that they are NOT Mazdaspeed cams. That it is a j-spec intake and the questionably available Masdaspeed exhaust cam.

and the relevancy of that thread lies where?

Read a little farther... That thread leads into a conversation about Shane Racing's short comings of which there are many. That is what the TheMAN is trying to show. All hail, TheMAN!

"I'm sorry that happened and both you and the buyer got 0wned by the misinformation. SR Motorsports sucks for the reason that they mislead customers (this was mentioned before by another board member that he had emailed SR Motorsports and told them that they put in wrong info... they fixed it and then the changed it back a few days later)... there is NO mazdaspeed intake cam for the protege 2.0, there is ONLY a mazdaspeed exhaust cam that is now out of production... the ONLY premade performance intake cam for the protege 2.0 is the jspec cam

there are NO mazdaspeed cams
there is a mazdaspeed exhaust cam"

so there is no mazdaspeed intake cam, but there is still( its still being produced, it legit, it will add the promised 10hp) a mazdaspeed exhaust cam

if you think 10hp from just that cam is an honest figure, then feel free to be gullible... otherwise, search and find out real world results

I have a friend with both cams brand new never used, he is trying to get rid of them, I will direct him to this thread
you would be lucky to get 10 hp from both cams, they are not a very agressive grind, and not that much different from stock

if your going NA, you would have to get a custom ground set of cams, high compression pistons, some head work done, and some sort of standalone

alot of people have gone the turbo route
there are many kits to choose from, Flyin Protege, Spoolin, and Hiboost

how much would it get to get a pair of cams custom ground, i know crane cams does it, but just asking for other options

I really have no idea on that one, I know a few members on this forum have done it but I dont think any of them ever mentiond how much they payed to have it done
