Sexiest sub box EVER.

hours and hours of sanding is an understatement. thast the hardest part to take your time on and its the part that will show the most errors if u rush.

when i'm dealing with bondo i have a tool called a cheese grater and soon as the bondo starts hardening you use the cheese graer to get any high spots first so u save some sanding time. and them i do mine pretty much the same. sand it smooth, spray it with primer. sand and find the low and high spots, fill them in and redo the hole process till its smooth. for pinholes don't use bondo use glazing putty wich is the stuff elemental suggested. its much faster just plop some on your finger and smooth it over the hole. no mixing required.

BTW I've admired, but not posted, that's looking awesome.

One little question. IS that a top-layer fabric you stretched just prior to the finished pics? (pic#'s 26 and 27) I'm currently trying to decide exactly how to finish mine. I might have a homie hookup for getting it painted laserblue, so that could be sweet. If I do it, though I'd definately want it looking right.

Its cotton fleece. When the Fiberglass resin soaks in it and hardens you have a pretty sturdy mold to work off of.

I looked pretty out of place going into a fabric store at noonish being the only young male there. All the mom's and grandmas were looking at me. I got extra so I wouldnt have to go through that in the future.. lol

Good luck with your project man, hope it turns out good.

As I just mentioned in a different thread, my friend and I had to buy bunny-print fleece because they didn't have a solid color. And boy did we look out of place.

dude ive ended up going in those womens fabric stores tons and you always get funny looks lol.

Talking to the little old lady when getting my fleece chunk cutout, Me with spiked orangetipped hair, lemon yellow glasses, brow and nose pierced and a bikechainlink in my ear and a "I fling poo" shirt on;

"How much do you want, honey?"

"umm... I don't know, like a yard and a half maybe" (kind of spanning out my arms and thinking that should give me twice what I need incase I want to either do a 2nd layer or I messup)

"aww are you making a baby blanket?"

"well, sort of, I'm going to be putting my baby in it"

"you aren't just going to leave it like it is are you? you should atleast surge the edges... blahblahblah"

"umm, actually I'm going to stretch it as tight as I can and then soak about a pint of some serious adhesive into it so It'll be stiff enough to stand on"

right about then she handed me my reciept with a bewildered disgusted look on her face, and I grabbed my bag and strolled on off *L* really didn't feel like explaining, etc.

Hey, BTW. that cotton fleece outer layer you did. Did you pre-stretch that at all, or just sort of lay it across and resin it down??? I'm thinking that'll possibly be a good method once I get everything partially smoothed to keep a nice fluid line around everything. I've also got a couple spots that could use a bit of stretching to clean-up around the edges and such.

The cotton fleece is NOT the outer layer. Its the basis of the mold. You only use it to define a shape and then build fiberglass on it.

Senior Corwin, I just took the pics and will PM you them now. Sorry it took so long. My sister might go into labor any minute and I had to pry the camera out of my Moms hands.
