Just wondering what some of the excuses some of you other msp owners have been getting when you take your car in because of the notorius acceleration hesitation?

no no real excuses i think the cars fine. Just get a fuel controller of :cough: the FPR kit joe is selling :cough: and that would help it out. You r going to grow old if you think the dealer is going to do something.

AMEN!

I will be very suprised if Mazda ever does anything at all to fix any problem the MSP has. I don't have anything wrong other than the slight pulse at certain RPM's under WOT.
I can live with it and I will buy Joe's kit to help but I am really waiting for his ECU ideas, and a fuel cut defender.
Neither clunk, nor stalling, or anything significant just a minor nuisance under certain conditions. I feel for you with real problems because I believe you will get no help from Mazda just the corporate run around like,"We looked and didnt find nothin, We looked and didnt find nothin, We looked and didnt find nothin, OOOPS Looks like your outta warranty. Too bad."
That same sweet song 99.9% of people that sell you something sing once they have your money. Of course they are learning from their domestic Big Daddy Ford.

Rant what rant?
:D

how are you suppost to argue their "its turbo lag" comment..especially when they dont really have a clue what the hell is going on...

i am waiting to see how the Joe's kit plays out. i know hes tested it extensively and i trust his work , but i am wondering how it will work with the injen intake, and i am saving all my money up for that right now. im sure Joe would be willing to help me later on if i just pay him for the nice instructions or something.

Beginning to wonder if they ever had a clue of what is going in regards to the MSP....
Good luck though hopefully they will start listening and actually look into the problems.

How much is Joe selling the kit for? Is it difficult to install?

its $25 for the whole kit right now because he is ordering the parts all together to help people out. Later on im not sure if he will have all the parts on hand, so one might have to order them seperately on thier own. I'm pretty sure its a simple install from what I've read. check up on his thread; its around here somewhere

How to argue the point is simple. I took my service tech for a ride. Showed I was "IN BOOST", on my gauge, showed that it was abot 3k prms, where boost is full, and the hesitation was there. Hrrrmm, no "TURBO LAG" excuse for me :D

In regards to the hesitation issue, the tech is actually diagnosing the ECU with a data logger. I have not had a chance to talk him yet, but trust him totally, after seeing his 400 whp, Wankle powered, Rx-7.

good idea..i'll have to try that...

but my dealer is so ingenious they might say my turbo timer is causing the hesitation....lol

I took mine in for the coolant leak, and the scratched Mazda logo on the steering wheel airbag. No problem, and they said nothing about the K&N. I will say (and this kind of pisses me off), that there are 3 tiny scratches on the new airbag. Oh; the logo is perfect, but the bag has those scratches. Nobody else would ever notice - but you know how that is.

When your a perfectionist, life can be a b**** sometimes! You notice every little ******* thing.

Na,

if the dealer around here starts to sell the spool kits (and warranties them like that dealership in OH) then I'll do that w/ a FMIC to aleviate the problem :D
