Seriously though... About these Squeaks!

Is/Has anyone done anything about the squeaks? I mean, it is really starting to annoy me to hear the back squeak when I pull into the driveway where I work, where I live, where I shop... Everywhere!

Is there anything Mazda can even do about it?

Here is what you need to do.

Take off the bushing on the rear sway bar. Real easy to do just two bolt on each side.
Clean the bushings real good and apply as much graphite as you can to the inside of the bushing. I did this and it has nearly stopped all the squeaks. Took me about 15 to do both sides. It wouldn't hurt to get a set of graphite impregnated urethane bushings too! Energy suspension actually makes a bushing set with a zerks fitting to allow for greasing the bushing.

Were the bushings rubber? I figured that's what the squeaks were.

ChrisS,

Yes the bushings are rubber, the squeaking comes when the rubber drives out a bit and starts binding with the sway bar as it twists. My sway bar actually had a couple spots where the paint was worn through. The graphite works really well. It woudln't hurt to make this a monthly service on your car.

I've never heard rubber bushings squeak like that before. Even in older cars.
