He obviously missed the important "small print" and if that's what makes a bad business then all businesses are bad. Within all of this he never read in the form that they were selling anyone new equipment through their accomodations....did he?

The biggest mistake was the way you first posted this thread, extremely unprofessional. Had you made your statement more civilized, as most of your threads had been, it would not have been that big of a deal.

Just becuase they don't work in the industry does not mean that they are incapable of understanding. It just means that they have not been spoon fed bulls*** by marketing departments like most in the industry have. They believe and think what they want without someone telling them what or how.
They are big boys and girls and no information is too much for them. This stuff does not need to be hidden and their opinions of JL's products are not based on my thoughts of their buisness practices. Keep in mind, during this time I have reccomended JL to no less then 100 people on this board, Nasioc and srtforums.

Being an american, I can say what ever about who ever I want. Unlike the general pussy wiped chuckle heads in the industry, my thoughts, actions and opinions are my own and NOT decided by my employer or its vendors.
Thats the problem with the industry, as a whole they feel the truth is only for their ears and that it must be silent about any actions. Its horshit and its what has led people away from retailers.

I didn't miss anything. The form that mentioned using B-stcok was added after my order. May people, as early as a month ago, still did not have the corrected form.

Yes I DID read that it was new equiptment to be send because the form says 70% off retail. The price they use is retail for A-stock products. Thus if someone says you get 70% off of the A-stock product then they have said that you will get A-stock. Otherwise they need to say you will get 50% off the B-stock retail price.

Anyway, I skimmed this thread and the one on car sound. I didn't read everyone's post so take my opinion as generalization.

JL Audio is in the business to make money...if they don't make money they can't research new technology and stay on the cutting edge. 70% off retail is a pretty big discount, and to offer it to anyone who sells their products would be a financial nightmare if there wasn't a catch.

In order to offer high-quality products to their consumers, and 1st is not a consumer in this case, they have to throw out anything that is not up to their quality standards. This creates a surplus of B-Stock (or whatever you want to call it) products that are functional, just not of the quality you want to sell to your customers.

This happens in every business. My girlfriend bought an LLBean jacket at their outlet store in N.Conway for a great price. I paid retail for mine. After a few weeks we noticed that her jacket was missing the LLBean logo on the breast. There is nothing else wrong with the jacket. I don't remember LLBean advertising the fact that products in their outlet stores were B-Stock, but now I know. So what. For the amount of money we saved, we don't need the logo. And for the amount of money you saved, I'm sure you can live with a scratch or two.

So to move this B-Stock product off the warehouse shelves companies discount it and sell it to non-consumers or consumers looking for a real bargain. The 1-year policy that JL has is only to prevent you from throwing the amp on ebay and making a profit from it. If they didn't have that policy, dealers would be buying truck loads of the B-Stock items and selling them online (I'm sure it happens anyway though).

Anyway, my point is, if you're looking for a deal, expect some short comings. If you want the real thing and every detail matters to you, pay for the real thing. It all comes down to the phrase "You get what you pay for". You just have to decide what you really want before you pay for it.

This is a program that HAS been in place, and functioning with A stock which really if you think about it, the guys with show systems working at places where they're gonna take ppl out to their car to have them check it out, it makes sense to put your best foot forward. JL DID make a change, and didso without notification. 1st just happened to be caught up in that transition, and was obviously caught off-guard by it.

Think of it like this: 1st is a pimp, and seeing as he has his pimp lisence, he can get ho's for nothing. Should that make him any less picky about the women he brings home? "Yea, but she was free" doesn't make up for the itchy red bumps the next day now does it? Perhaps if he knew what he was getting in the first place, it'd be a different story.

i dont think ive read a response on any thread that zoomp5 has posted on that has been constructive. if your in the industry zoom your giving it a bad name.

more people can be sold on a product if you take them out to your car and give them a listen. i'd want my dealers and sponsored cars to have my best equipment in it. because they are the guys that will get people into the product. theres a big diffrence in listening to equipment glued to a sound board versus in someones car.

And you have no idea what some of the people on here have accomplished...don't inflate your ego, pal. I'll tell you what I've accomplished, though...absolutely bupkus. I'm still doing my first install. Got a lot to learn still...but I haven't seen anything that you've posted as being worthy of rememberance, as opposed to info that I've gotten from 1st, wake, parks, poseur, and sndsgood (among others). But if you think that makes you better "in the industry" or whatever, then so be it. I know my position on the totem...needless to say, I don't particularly care.

But what gets to me is when you come on here and insult us. You call *us* ignorant...I challenge you to find a better car audio board that's part of a car enthusiast site. I bet you won't find one that's a) nearly as friendly or b) nearly as informative (except maybe Wake's other site). I don't think you can really judge us if you haven't been paying attention too well as you've admitted.

Regardless of what you consider us to be, WE ARE YOUR MARKET! In the end, we are the people who go out and ACTUALLY PAY the extra 70%. You're right, we don't know what you've accomplished in the industry, and you know what, I'm sure it's spectacular, and car audio wouldn't be what it was today without you. (jerkit) You're not getting respect in here prettymuch because we don't really judge ppl by who they are 'cause quite frankly we don't give a flying ****. You could be god himself, and if you unintelligently knocked one of the informative ones in here, we'd still tell you to take off.

i don't care what youve done in the industry. there are allot of guys in the industry that don't know jack, ive seen professional shops with installs worse then the novices competitors, there are hundreds of people that work building amps and speakers but thad doesnt mean they know their audio. just means they can solder a wire and pass the amp on to the next person. i'm not judging u by who u are i am judging you on your responces in your posts,
