"04" 3 for some reason I have lost horse power since I added aftermarket ex. Should I have taken the second cat off. Haven't Dyno'd; can obviously feel diff.

Not surprising. When you remove restriction, it moves your power band higher in the RPM range. You lose at the low RPMs but gain at the high. Removing the second cat would just make it even more noticable.

Yeah I've been thinking about removing it. Infact theres a stock looking exhaust (Thrush I think) @ Advanced that has a mean sound.$20.00. Its not really that I want the look as much as that intimidating sound. Thanks for the tips.

my exhaust is completly open except for the cat thats built into the manifold and i didnt notice any drop in power.

yikes, you installed a universal?! try to get rid of that ASAP. see the graph on my sig? red one is the base draxas exhaust, on top of that is the 2nd cat removed, then on top of that is advanced timing + 89 octane.

its something the guys over at the "other" forum figured out... some one explianed it on here, let me see if i can dig up the post...

found it

i have to do this....

Interesting! May have to check that out.

Sorry if not proper thread but could an exhaust leak cause my car to stutter and kinda hickup in low rpm then be just fine after about 3,000rpm. Kuz i read in a thread earlier that with less exhaust restriction the higher your powerbands goes. Am I right or wrong? Do I need to take it to an exhaust shop or is it a waste of time.

low rpms? like you come to a stop and go to take off and it feels like its going to either cut out or die one you?? hmm.. bring to dealer.. Purge Control Valve is shot.. there is a TSB on it at Mazda.. its sticking open and is dumping fuel into the motor.. at least thats the explanation i got when mine did that.. 3 times..
