I suspect Im bringing really old news and if so my apologies but latest Motor trend had a nice article on the new 3 and the differences between it and the outgoing 3 model. Towards the end they indicated the hatchback and mazdaspeed 3 versions of the car are expected this coming summer.

I'd like to see the new MS3 by summer but I suspect that it's over a year away. I hope they still leave the sunroof off-or at least make it optional.
I do not expect to see the MS3 until October at the earliest. Mazda is going to capitalize on new model sales throughout the summer... especially with the 3 being their top selling platform. If the MS3 continues to remain a class leader, I would expect it to remain in production for a full 3-4 years. JMHO.

The new 2010 3 has an ugly fish like face. Looks like a channel catfish going for a breadball on a hook. Buttt ugly. That is why I ran out and bought my new 09 which I love the looks of.
couldnt agree more, this reminds me of a case with the new WRX look, it's either love it or you hate it (pukey):'((blarf) I read many times here the new 3 look left a lot to be desired

i don't think i've seen a pic of the hatch yet, only the sedan. they are still gonna have a hatch option right?
well I for ONE seem to like it. I see the Smily face aspect, but does'nt really bother me. I guess the best thing we can do is just wait to see the finished product, it might be something as subttle as a higher hood line or the scoop which will give it that distinct look over the already-butchered look of the 3.
Im still loving my 08.5 and i will keep it for a long time, but if Im pleased with the overall package of the new one, the front might be something i can overlook.

Yes, the introduced the sedan in the US because @70% of US buyers buy the sedan. In the rest of the world 70% take the five door hatch.

Is it me or does the e-brake look even higher now?
is it me or the interior looks like somewhat like the new Civic's!! The digital speedo above the dash, even the steering wheel!!

I would not count on a hood scoop. Might not even make a speed version. There is a video on line I have seen of a blue 2010 hatch driving around. I just cannot get past that gaping mouth. I could not buy something I do not like the looks of. My new 09 looks awesome.

I heard they havent decided if they will go with a beefier 2.3DISI Turbo or use the 2.5Ecotech... now if they would go rear wheel drive ;-)
