Seems like the insurance companies are catching on...

I actually just switched to AIG from geico. I went from $732/6mo to $540/6months.

I've got a clean record, no accidents or tickets on my record in the past 5 years.

Which insurance company are you using?

Grange, I've had them for like 20 years.

I really can't complain about the rate though, as it is $540 for 6 months and I have some extra coverage thrown in there too. Still, it's more cash out of my pocket at the end of the day.

I've done comparisons and policy for policy I've yet to find anything in Central Ohio that is cheaper.

My Wife's five is $376 every 6 months.

All I know is that it's going to be more than my two door eclipse.

And I thought there was a cut for vehicles that had more than two doors. (eyeroll). Goes to show what I know.

I just got a statement from my insurance (allstate) saying my premium has been updated. I glanced at it today but it's like $320 a month now to insure my ms3 instead of the $250 that it was before. I'm going to call and see what I can do but I'm probably going to be shopping for a different insurance company.

Dear GOD! I thought I was paying a lot..

alot of the comparisons here are like dyno sheet comparisons. there are alot of differences in everyones policies where the prices originate, so you can't just compare the end result. alot of the stuff doesn't even have to do with location either (since people like me and lazer inherently pay more than someone in say, idaho). these differences can include - coverage limits, deductible level, stuff like road side and rental coverage, repair quality guarantees, blah, blah, blah.

the cheapest insurance isn't always the best, ESPECIALLY when it comes to the time when you actually have to use it.

One of the main reasons you pay so much less is because of your gender.

Also, you have to keep in mind the difference in location. All other things being equal, full coverage insurance in Atlanta, GA is going to cost you more than in Podunk, GA with a population of 200 and 1 traffic light.

I hate to say it, but I think that I have the lowest cost insurance on here. I was paying $102/month for the my last term and I just renewed for $80/month for my 07 Speed6 GT and 08 Speed3 Sport. I am with Ameriprise (Costco) and fully covered.

I have you beat. Full coverage with AllState for $500 A YEAR = $42 a month :)

I suppose it heavily depends on what state you live in as well. I live in NC...but the big reason why mine is so cheap is because I'm 22 with no tickets and still on my parents policy. Granted, I'm the one paying it but it helps to be on a 20+ year old policy with absolutely ZERO accidents, every discount you could possibly get, and 4 vehicles lol.

um, wow.

I pay $260 every 6 months for full coverage with 100/300 limits, which is way more than state minimum.

I'm 28, but I own my own house, so it helped drop my premium. American Family insurance was cheaper than anyone else by a long shot, plus my agent is pretty cute. I also have a 98 neon RT that I race and a Honda ATV, which are insured through progressive in a different state. I pay $120 a year on the Honda, and $46 monthly on the neon.

I suggest shopping around. My father saved over $15,000 a year by switching about 20 vehicles over from USAA to Farmers, but the cars he insures are in a another world compared to you or I. USAA is still cheaper to insure his trailers.

For two Speeds? Well done. (bow)

I wasn't trying to start anything. I agree with Chris...it definitely helps to shop around. Even if you do not want to change companies, mention to your agent that you are finding cheaper rates with similar services from other insurance companies. You would be surprised how many discounts they will find for you. I have a discount from defensive driver's training from high school, 15 years ago. This especially works if you have been with an agent for a couple years. Just my 2 pennies.
