OK everyone I've almost decided to go back to turbo.....I've rebuilt my motor yet again and slapped the 9.1:1's in there so I'mm back at stock compression damn its slow.....anyways.....at first i'm thinking a 5 psi non-intercooled system to start off utilizing the STOCK exhaust manifold....I was looking at it the other day and if I ported it it would have fairly to very good flow in it and I can make an adapter plate no prob to fit a T3 on there and as for the backpressure issue I thought of before I found a solution make a short test pipe inside the stock manifold to bridge the gap and use a rotating seal like what is on our exhausts and no more backpressure and a cast turbo manifold. Clearance isn't an issue I don't think in our cars since it seems that all callaway did was modify the falng on the stock manifold to accept the turbo. Anyways...I will use a FMU for now and just a 1st gen DSM BOV I have the fittings for oil and the feed line so we are talking a cheap and effective but not shotty quality turbo kit. Priced it up today at work anad I would only be looking at about 350 for a rebuilt 60 trim T3 from turbonetics, 30 bucks for a 1st gen DSM BOV, fittings i have lines i have, used 10:1 FMU for about 90 bucks, and my piping about 120 all together so i'm looking at around 600 bucks for the same kit i had before pretty much with an OEM fit just about. Any comments or suggestions let me know i'm breaking out the die grinder tonight to port the manifold.
