Seat problem

I was driving to work this morning and and decided I would mess with the seat settings a little and well..... I moved the seat all the way down and now it wont adjust up at all?

The lever that raises or lowers the seat seems to be broken and I wondered if anyone else has run into this?? and can I fix it myself or do I have to bend over at the dealership??

I had only adjusted this once when I bought the car and this is the first time I have touched it.

Do you still have a vehicle warranty? I haven't heard of this problem happening to anyone else.....What exactly is happening when you raise and lower the lever? Is it moving freely or is there resistance like there should be?

Just a few questions to help us better understand the problem.....

Yes the lever moves up and down freely but does not move the seat at all.

It was up several clicks before and when I started to move it town it moved down in stages like it is supposed too but now that it is all the way down moving the lever does nothing.

oh and yes there is resistence like normal operation

Found the problem.... took all the plastic off the side of the seat to get to the guts of the unit and found there is a small plastic peice that switches the unit to move up or down one side of that little peice broke and therefor was not switching to the up swing of the lever. I simpley manualy pull the small metal unit out to move the lever then can adjust it up no big deal but to move it up or down I have to pull that metal peice out then set it back on the small gear that moves the seat.

If anyone else has had this problem I can post some pics if they want to adjust or fix themselves as opposed to taking it to the dealer

i have that problem but is a little different. My knob got stuck. I cant move it at all. I took the seat off and nothing it seems wrong. Is very painful drive like that. what can i do?

I am not familiar with the "knob" I have the lever under the front to move forward and back then the lever on the side to move the seat up and down then the small lever at the back to move the back support forward or backword...

yeah, thats the lever on the side, the back support....it's totally stuck.

hmmm I will take a look at lunch and see if I can pinpoint your problem since I still have all the plastic off... i will try and take a couple of pics also.
