seat options

i am looking to put in some aftermarket seats to replace the less aggressive stockers. i have searched the forums and there are only a few threads on different seats. what are my options? i would like it to be a basic plug and play seat, adjustable, reasonably priced, safe, and comfortable?
any suggestions?

its not so much the seat that matters, its getting a set of brackets that fit the protege. strictly plug and play, any protege seat will go in. popular swap is to snag a set of leather seats from a protege5

Tenzo R, Corbeau = Reasonably priced

Bride, Sparco, And Recaro = Expensive

I'm not sure about Cobra fitting in Protege's though.

Peace

i know Sparco makes brackets for the Protege.... do these brackets only fit Sparco seats? or do they fit other seats like Bride, Recaro, Corbeau, etc...?

Sparco makes brackets for their seats. Corbeau is for Corbeau seats. Same with Bride and Tenzo. All those companies are independent. Idk about mixing brackets and seats or idk about Recaro brackets + seats, but I know some members have them.

Peace

are tenzos actually reputable in terms of safety?

I would never ride in a tenzo. They aren't certified for safey.

Personally, I love my sparco torinos. MUCHO comfortable. I have no more back pain that the stockers used to inflict.

after buying the sliders/brackets/ w/e hardware and the seats, how much did that set u back?

Hardware was about 375 shipped. Seats I bought from ebay (basically brand new, guy had them a week and never installed them) for 745 shipped I think. For a grand total of $1,120.

is all the hardware you purchased to put the seats in your mp3 the same as i would need to get for my speed? and where did you get the hardware from?
thanks

I never put them on the scale, but the sparco hardware is pretty heavy. Overall I would say its a gain in weight.

alright blast from the past...

i never bought new seats but i am now in the market for some. does anyone have any comments on the sparco torinos II? also, do you still get all the mounting hardware from wedge engineering?

another question, how will the ride height be affected? i like how you can adjust the seat height. its nice to be able to see so well out of the front windshield. where will an after market seat position you height wise?

also do all the sparco seats have the same size base so the mounting hardware will all be the same? can you find just any sparco seat on ebay or used from another car?
thanks

the torinos are amazing seats for street... they are very daily driver friendly for getting in and out and still offer great support and comfort.

i would look into the Bride Ergo IIs also, same idea as the torinos... bit bigger thigh bolsters so they will be harder to get in and out of but more support in corners.

most aftermarket seats do not adjust up and down and seat you slightly lower than stockers. you can modify the brackets though if your handy to make the seats sit higher.

i love the Bride Gias... they are the ultimate seat. bolsters out of a full bucket but with reclining ability, and super light. these are next on my list
how about you buy them then sell them to me for half price. haha

hope that helped
