alright, so yesterday i was driving home from college to go home for the weekend. It was a fairly nice day out for april in Michigan, and i am in a little transition section of the highway and i am kinda in the middle of no where, halfway in between mt. pleasant and lansing if you know where that is at. Anyway driving like normal, then all of a sudden my tachometer drops to zero, i look down only to see my oil light turn on and then i glance over to my water temp. gauge and that was shooting through the roof...i started to get really worried as i pulled the car over to the side of the highway, i check under the hood to see that the radiator and reservoir were still full, i look under the car to see if there was fluid leaking, nothing. I call my grandfather, and he said that last time i got my oil change which was like 800 miles ago, that i might not have gotten a proper seal on my oil filter and i had a slow drip of oil....so i check the dip stick to see that it is pretty dry....my car got towed to the nearest car repair shop...but before this happened we added like 3 quarts of oil to see if it would just start right up if i added oil...does anyone have any clue as to what this could be? the tow guy said when he leaned over that he couldn't hear my fuel pump activating when i tried to start it up...the engine hasn't ceased and it still tries to start up, the temp is just really high...so i am thinking that maybe mazda has a safety sensor that will kill the engine when something like this happens....i dunno just an idea...if anyone has any suggestions that would be greatly appreciated...
