SC meet?

Carolina region of SCCA. the next event is in Florence, SC on November 15th. a bunch of people come out and run their cars hard and have a great time. one problem with it...its addicting!

nothing worth auto Xing with i've got a '99 protege with a 1.6L automatic. so it's one of the slowest proteges ever made, and on top of that i've got a few hundred pounds of stereo equipment in it

you guys available this weekend? Kinda short notice, but would work for me. Would be easy enough to pick a spot. I can't do the 8th either, as it's my daughter's birthday. Might be able to do the 15th, have to see what my wife's schedule is. I was trying to go the the autox this weekend at Ft Hill, but that isn't going to happen either. I didn't know it was two days, and I just got back from training, so would like a little more time with family before I go taking off for any amount of time.

Just a quick note glyph... the auto-x in Fort Mill is a test-n-tune the first day, and a points autocross the second. You don't have to do both. I'll be there for sure the first day, not sure yet whether I'll stay the night and go for the second day. Anyhow, that's just FYI.

hey tink, i'm in south charlotte. The autox test and tune is in Ft. Mill? Where?
Also there is an endurance kart race @ Lowe's Motor Speedway on Nov 8th.
Another thought..... they did a dyno day in Belmont at Turbo Toms for a large group of Focus owners, would something like that be interesting for a meet?

Hiya slowhand. The one tomorrow is at the Knights Stadium in Fort Mill. Not too far from ya! I will only be going to the first day (a test-n-tune) but if you're there, I'll be in a titanium MSP and my friend in a blue WRX. This will be my first, his 4th or 5th...

no points on test-n-tune day (but good practice)

Thanks for the info on the Nov 8 event. That could be a lot of fun, and Hubby will be off that weekend. Wow, maybe it's something we could actually attend together!

well, today obviously won't work. i got up and went on a 15K ruck march on folly beach with my buddy. 75 lb rucks, and beautiful weather but i'd be up for meeting up tomorrow. my car's in horrible condition, though and i don't know if misterT will be up for it

Slowhand, it was nice to meet you. Glad you popped in and thanks for coming over and introducing yourself. Also, NICE CAR! Thanks for the ride. That Kart racing sounds like a blast, I'll let you know about next weekend. Is Lowe's speedway in Charlotte?

TitanB, I'm not sure I'd say I "did" very well, but I don't think I was at the *very* bottom of the sheet and I sure had a lot of fun. Wish I could have stayed both days but I'm already looking forward to the next event.

I learned so much from just that one day, also met a lot of people from whom I have a great deal to learn, so that was also really cool. People freely gave their knowledge, and there were a number of instructors and very experienced autocrossers there. I never once felt like people were snickering or looking down on at my performance.

Yes, I'm still high from it. I looked out at the car this morning, still with the numbers on the windows, and it made me grin. Heh heh.

Okay, I just realized I completely thread-jacked glyph's subject of a Charleston or Columbia meet. How about I start a new SC Autocrossing thread? Look for me there.
