I hope for the sake of that new block and your wallet, you take the time to inform yourself on how to get the best performance out of your new engine.azian6er said:thanks for the advice. The haltech is already tuned by juan at high boost for the msp with a bigger turbo. I will have to do some dyno tuning before i really start looking for power, but for the first 800-1K miles i will not see any boost.
Oh and fyi i didnt blow my motor because of boost last time man. I had an oil consumption problem and my rod bearing spun. (boom06)

Also, I've never heard of not taking a car into boost levels for the fist 800-1000miles... that's called an EASY BREAK-IN and will prevent your piston rings from seating themselves correctly in the piston sleeve. Read up on it here - I swear this is a must to follow when breaking in a fresh engine.

You might be asking yourself why I sent you to a site that covers motorcycles, but the guy says it's the same procedure for a car. I trust him, he does lots of research, he doesn't always agree with the experts, hell he almost shoots down his own theories but after reading more and more, he only wants to assure the reader that while an expert may tell you to run the break-in like the factory tells you, experience and testing will always give you better results. The guy takes engines apart like we take a piss. And don't use synthetic for atleast 1500 miles on the fresh block!!!
