Seriously! Some how I dont doubt that. I can not imagine driving around worried about Hydrolock.

yeah that's how I felt until 3 months ago when I hydrolocked my car. But if you think its not an issue good luck to you and your car : ) Hopefully you have a good dealership that takes car of you like mine did

What were the TRUE circumstances though? Were you sitting in high water and started the car? It would be almost impossible to hydro lock without being in an awfully big body of water. I used to run a front mount CAI in my GTI and lived in Portland ORegon, we get more rain than Boston and I never heard of Hydro lock till I started driving Hondas/Mazdas 5 years ago. We get plenty of rain here in Michigan. I bought the hydro shield and am just careful as one can be. Do you know how much water you got into your motor? Also, your insurance should cover Hydrolock if the dealership doesnt. How did you get the dealership to cover it in the first place?

the TRUE circumstances where large puddle of water on left hand side of the highway. Only thing I could do was let off on the gas and coast through hoping for the best. So based on all your experience with rainy weather your conclusion of hydrolocking a car impossible would be inaccurate... I had the hydroshield as well and that did nothing to stop it.
