Saturn Skys at the assembly plant

what the hell is that box in the trunk anyway? is it for disassembly of body parts?

mazda hired that guy? hmm let me think, its probably the only decently deisgned car GM has come up with in like forever and they let him leave I think thats pretty dumb

s***, someone shoot me.... the thought of actually buying a saturn just ran through my head.... good god, whats next?!?!

Definately cooler than the solstice. I'd rock one for sure, with a bit smaller wheels tho.

*edit*
you don't buy these cars because they are practicle. so whatever.

hey...i know where that parking lot is! i think i may have seen this car on the road before, too. the only sky i've seen so far (on a few occasions) is the same color. i think i'll stick with the silver, though...i don't really like the yellow they chose.

what makes people say saturns are crap? everyone i know has loved theirs. they arent speedy at all but good solid cars from what ive seen

I think the hump in the back is the fuel cell...gas tank.

Well he was the designer but GM rushed the car into production due to significant interest.

He use to work for VW/Audi before comming to GM. And now hes probally the guy behind the new Mazdaspeed designs.

I wouldn't knock it till I take it through a canyon :) Perhaps it'll do well. Prolly can drift it a bit :P

I like the body styling. A really Non-aggressive elise imo. ;x but I'd take an elise anyday :P heheh.

One thing is for sure...This car is going to get a lot more reaction out of people (good and bad) than any other production saturn IN HISTORY!

'07s are getting a redesigned truck to optimize space wit the fuel tank. Thats for the Solstice at least.

sounds like a good idea by the looks of that thing. lord knows it would drive me nuts to see that thing everytime i opened the trunk. not because it takes up so much space (you don't really get these cars for practicality), just because it's there and looks so out of place.

I love the look of the Sky, but I would scrap al the chrome and get a hardtop for it. I JUST saw a white one on the road about 5 minutes ago. It didn't have dealer or manufacturer plate on it.

I saw a white one in Rochester right before New Years. The "fast feedback" or pool vehicles don't get manufacturer tags. Nothing's been delivered to a paying customer yet.

Looks like mazda may be in trouble now as far as the miata goes. The sky looks better than the solstice imo and the availability of the turbocharged version makes it look even better. I own a miata now and would choose the sky over the nc miata in a second.

where did you hear that...about a month ago their was a press release from GM saying there will be no turbo solstic/sky.

found teh article...supercharger
GM confirmed to AutoWeek that the company will offer a 2.0-liter supercharged engine in both the Pontiac Solstice and upcoming Saturn Sky, not a turbocharged mill as had been expected. The move confirms speculation that a GT or GXP model Solstice would emerge with in a year of the base models introduction, though irrational optimists who were waiting to hear the roadsters would get a small-block V8 option will likely have to adjust their happy-pill dosage. The supercharged version will reportedly be offered for the 2007 model year.

AutoWeek likes to make up press releases. The S/C'd solstice stuff they had is not the first thing they have had completely wrong. The Solstice GXP has already been released in LA and Detroit autoshows with a 2.0L Direct Injection turbo Ecotec with 260HP/260ft-lbs. Speculation says a Sky redline won't be far behind, and look at the Opel Lightning for proof. Pics were also leaked from the factory showing a Saturn Sky with a twin outlet exhaust.
