Sat Nav. & Radio Question

I've always put my XM antenna on the outside of the car, does anyone know if they could be mounted on the dash instead? Maybe somewhere close to the front so it has more exposure?

I got a Kenwood DNX5120 and it has built in Sat Nav, which I've never had, so I don't really know it's requirements. My Garmin Street Pilot obviously works fine getting its signals thru the window, so I was wondering the in-dash Sat Nav's can too?

Somewhat answering my own Question #2 here. The deck comes with a 3x3 piece of metallic (painted black) adhesive that can be applied to the dash so the GPS antenna will stick.

So, I guess my remaining question is whether or not Sat Radio will also work thru the windshield?

Some people believe putting it inside is a HUGE mistake, but I know many people who have theirs on the inside and it works fine, great even, now my regular antenna on my car is a dif story, I never get the radio stations I should.

And you can put the antenna in front of that little round thing on the dash, I think it's for the daytime running lights?, but yeah have at it. Sat radio is GREAT!
