What hood is this? I saw it on an MAM banner on their website. Anyone know a website for it or brand name or anything? I`m guessing it`s APC, but are the air ducts functional? http://store.summitracing.com/default.asp?target=/egnsearch.asp&N=400375

Looks like the Xcelerated Concepts hood... So sweet looking in my opinion. Crazycaker designed apparently, Tekkie has it i guess, i found this link on an old thread.

Also, this Airflowtech person, does he/she respond to PM's? I PM'd him like twice with questions and never got a response...

My tech guy, Russ, is on vacation so I've been trying to catch up and cover for him, so sorry about the delays in responses...yes genius I remember our conversation and have the notes from it...

Harness

How do I put pictures up so that they show up in the post on the page? I`m gonna try to post some pic.s of the little wiring harness I made and I don`t know if they`ll come up on the post like I want `em to. So, let`s see. If they don`t someone tell me how.

Well, you have to start by unCLIPping the MAZDASPEED kick panel (I forgot the name of it, I`m guessing kick panel). Just carefully pop it up. There`s a picture of the bottom side of that.
Then, you pop out the clips holding the plastic pieces in next to the bottom vents and directly across from that.
Next, PULL back the carpet and unscrew 4 (FOUR) nuts from the metal ECU cover. The tops ones are easy enough but the bottoms are hidden by the carpet. There`s a pic. of that.
The ECU is held onto the plate by 4 (FOUR) nuts with brackets, just undo those. Easy... pic.s.
The ECU has a bolt on the top and a black plastic cover. The bolt just comes out and the cover just unclips. Pic.s of that...

NOW for the fun part, IF you are going to do a wiring harness like I did; you will need to cut the wires up as high as possible (up to where the bundle goes into the black tape etc.). Cut the wires, strip `em, put the wires togehter close and twist then solder them back together. And a word of advice from someone who`s done it, if you are going to tin the wire then solder the plug pin on GO EASY on the solder. Do a GOOD JOB, not an overachieving job. I wish someone would have told me this. The pin will likely not click all the way into the plug if the solder winds up on the outside of the pin instead of where u want it, in between the wire and pin, or the wires together may not go into the pin and that is not a good thing.
I used a setup where the O2 and MAF are on their own plugs and the other three wires are all together, but a 5 or 7 or whatever all in one would probably be easier. The only problem is you would have to make a little jumper for the MAF and O2 if you unplug the AFC. There are a couple of different ways to do this. The O2 is a shielded wire and has other wires around it (it`s a MESS!) I just cut `em and used a little piece of wire to put `em back together, I don`t know if this is necessary, then used a little black tape.
I made this sound all real easy, but it was a PAIN. If things fight with you, expect to take AT LEAST an hour.
BUT, the result is pretty much worth it. When I was done, there are plugs sittin right there stickin out from under the carpet easy to get to. PIC.S!
