Are these the same Racing Harts that the MP3 has or are they a different rim from Mazda?

No offense to Mazda, but the MP3 was supposed to be a special model of limited quantity. Now they are selling pretty much everything from the MP3 for any person to almost make their own. I don't really mind, but I'd be pissed if I'd paid a premium to purchase a MP3 and then have them do this the very next year.

Acutally the only part you can't purchase from the "performance" catalog is the front fascia, and we all know that a P5 front is the same as the mp3. I've got the list at home if you want any part#'s or retail prices of anything, got it from our parts manager before I quit the dealership.

Anyone with free time could take all the parts off the MP3...add them all up at dealer cost...Add that price to a 2.0 Protege ES and see how much it would cost to convert a 2.0 Protege ES into an MP3.
Just something that might be intresting to find out.

yes, same rim, different center cap, and hondasarge...that is my point exactly, why put out a limited car, then sell off all of the "limited" parts of it?wtf!!!

Why are the dealers selling the MP3 parts? DUH!!! Let me see? MONEY $$$$$$!!!! That's what they are looking at and also the fact that they know there is not much aftermarket parts for the P5. They have figure they can sell the parts and participate on the compact car profit. The rims we can put on P5's with no trouble and some minor things. However, if you want the springs you have to buy the whole suspension system due to the way Racing Beat made it for the MP3 and this also goes to the Sport Muffler. So, some things do not fit at least on the P5 case as they would on the Protege sedans. It is all about the BIG $$$$...

Actually the mp3 front is not the same as the p5 front.

The side markers are not in the same place.

Thing is, if anyone wanted to turn their regular protege into an MP3 they would have to dish out so much money getting the parts from mazda that it would not be worth it. Furthermore, I don't know how the mp3 front will fit with the ret of the regular protege body!

I'm just happy all of the mods come straight from mazda, which means, their suppliers are more likely to maintain production than if it were, say, a group buy. I mean, you are almost guaranteed to find the RH rims from mazda in the years to come, even though I have not seen our RH mags on any other catalog. And it's not like our mags are "special" we just have a special cap, that's all.

I don't understand all the hoopla....big deal...so someone goes out and makes a COUNTERFEIT MP3.....its not a real one....THEY can only CLAIM they have one...YOU can prove it by getting certification from Mazda with your VIN number.....if you look out there....there hasn't been a limited edition car made that someone hasn't COUNTERFEITED because they couldn't get their hands on an original.......the problem I would have is if that person TRIED to sell or represent that car as an original.
