SAFCII Install.. Coming Soon

I am not talking about the safc system in general. I am talking about what it reads in on our cars. Yes the safc does read in volts but when they tried to get it to work on his it only ever read in watts so thats kind of what I was trying to say. Sorry if its kind of misleading!

I think if you start adjusting the a/f ratio through the MAF meter with the SAFC, the timing will automatically be adjusted higher as well. This is something we DO NOT want on a flashed MSP correct?

you can make the car boost depended with a greddy boost gauge and a safc. i know a few honda guys that do this. you don't tie into the maf senor. you use the senor for the electronic boost gauge.

thanks justin h.

Hmmmm, interesting. The only thing I see here is that it won't take into account air temperature, however, if you have the boost controller tapped to the manifold and tune it off that it seems like this idea could work!(yes)

Can you explain that a little more?

Thanks.

I just came from a tune shop with loads of experience tuning the S-AFCII. He pretty much said that he could tune my car with no problem. I'm also picking up a AVC-R Boost controller that will be tuned in conjunction. Unfortunately, I have to wait til the end of Aug so I can put the hiboost fmic on first. Anyway... he said he could probably do all the tuning (on dyno) and installation of both the avcr and safcII for about $800 or under (that includes the price of the safcII).

Can't wait!!!!

Might as well spend the money on the MPI unit. Much better unit in my opinon.
Can you explain? Have you tuned cars with both the MPI and S-AFCII units?

We can go whenever you want bro! Yea, I'm sure they have the ebc in stock, but I'm sure you can call ahead of time and order it.

if you want it to be boost depend. use the signal wire on a greddy electronic boost gauge or any electronic boost gauge instead of the maf signal. the pressure senor is more like a map senor. you can set the afc to 0 at idle and when into boost you add fuel. the more boost the more fuel. but the only problem you may have is running out of fuel like with the greddy e-manage.
i,m not sure what wire is the signal wire on the gauge!

thanks justin h

Hey jonboy, have you made it to P1 yet? I have talked to Bob there a few times and I was thinking about being the local gunea pig, but with the baby almost here, i dont know if i can swing the money yet and i was also wanting to get the pros/cons on the mpi vs the safcII?
