i want to be able to run more boost.
is there any pistons and rods that will fit in our cars with out having to bore the engine.
i just want to simply take the head off and drop some better pistons and rods in the car.
can i do that?
if so help me find them?

idea of boost would be 12-14 lbs.

protegegarage.com,they have internals that will fit stock block for the proteges

Just take take readings in 3 or 4 locations in the cly's look at what factory says is ok before having to go over. Power hone with a 4 stone and slap them s**** in. Also dont forget you need to press in new oil squiters

thank you!!

now that my question has been answered, could anyone help me find some that will fit into the stock slots?

also need a fmic (under $500)

and a new manifold. (around 600)

just need a little help.

im looking for someone to help me get a set together please!

also im not the one working on my car, im just there learning and have learned alot.

honestly trying not to do that.
ill stay stock and buy the stock pistons and rods but trying to upgrade them while ill be in the motor.

this really confused me lol.

but anyway you could make a custom FMIC kit for about 500 or less, and you might get a steedspeed manifold for 600 I'm not sure what they go for now. Steedspeed is on the forums so you can PM him and see.

ive wondered about cryo treating my internals, i dont know if anyone on here has done it, but if youre opening the engine its WAY less money than forged internals. the question is how effective it is.

yes, but if you want rods to fit the stock pistons i believe you have to custom order them. i dont know all the specifics, but its something to the effect of the wrist pin configuration is different.

get wiseco and k1 combo, stock spec, thats what i have. over 7000 miles running and counting, no balance or what so ever.. droped in and play...

since wiseco and k1 weight matched their product equally you dont need to balance the crank, its been balanced stock...

Interesting as this is what I want to do too, just stronger stock replacement internals to handle the boost better on the new engine I get.

Dont mean to thread jack as boostfreak can probably benifit from this.

So say I want to stay stock.

I would get wiseco and k1 combo-- stock set, also maybe do the oil pump mod or coat it for better performance. What else would one add to the list. I am doing this all myself, not a stranger to rebuilds just never really ventured in building up performance engines, always stayed stock on rebuilds. I know there is a thread for what mods to get for a daily but what I did not see mention was internals. I want better internals for those other mods to not make my engine go boom. I would be letting a local machine shop do the machining though.

That is interesting. You didn't have any machine work done or anything?

machine work is not really needed if your cylinder walls are notin bad shape. if you are luck and you dont need to cut down the cylinder walls then all you really need to do is to hone them real good and install the internals.
