RX8 Wheels

Got a quick question. Would the RX8 wheels fit on a 2010 Mazda 3 without any rubbing? I'm really debating getting them because they are a clean looking 5 spoke wheel that would look great on any Mazda. Also if they do, how can I paint them? What kind of paint and what not. Any advice would be very Helpful!

Fitment is not a problem. As far as painting them goes. Sand them down with light grit sand paper, just to knock the shine off. Clean with rubbing alcohol. Apply at least 2 coats of primer. Use your favorite color spray paint. I used some cheapo Wal mart stuff on my wheels.

if you have tires on the rims used playing cards and have them over lap each other standing up between the rim and the tire and you can paint the rims with out getting the paint on tires, i did that and it works great got the idea from another forum member here thanks to whom ever i stole that from.. good luck cant wait to see them painted and on your car

Yeah me too! I haven't bought them just yet. Gotta wait a bit to get more money. But I was thinking black but it will just look dirty. If I paint them should I clear them?

Yes clearcoat them! Extra chip protection. Are you sure you want them black? Try to get a look at a car that has black wheels hasn't been washed 5 minutes ago. Black car, black wheel, nasty looking tire (different black). I personally hate that look. I am also not one to detail my car every other day to have nice looking tires.

Well NOW I'm actually debating even getting RX8 wheels. It seems like A LOT of people have them on their Mazda. I want something different. Any idea???

Powder coating is always your best option. With an undamaged wheel its not terribly expensive either. You could get it done with a little negotiating for less than 300 dollars all 4 wheels if you ask the right people. Plus it is resistant to everything. Very hard to damage.

Look at my 8 if you want to see them charcoal gray. They are factory color but also look at the 2010 RX8 wheels. You will need to click my sig for my car but heres a photo of the new RX8 R3 Wheels in the same color:

I like Love those wheels! But I'm trying to find something that will show off my soon to be painted calipers. How much would those wheels be?? But I know how to powder coat. Did that for my jeep.

Either wheel will show off your painted caliper. You can see the caliper in that photo and if the wheel landed off center from it you would see it even better. I didn't clean the wheel first because this photo was taken for a DIY not for show. But its G2 caliper paint on a stock JDM Charcoal Grey RX8 wheel.
