No, they would charge less with a crap economy. You see RX8 wheels with or without tires going for $300-$800. Depends on condition of wheels and tires along with what the seller feels his wheels are worth.

I'm looking at a set from an '07 RX-8 that's somewhat local. He says there's no curb rash on them since they're still pretty new. Gotta drive 1.5 hours to meet up with him when he decides on a new set of wheels. I offered $400 and he accepted. It comes with tires that have maybe 5-8K left on them.

How about the set Shinka RX-8 Wheels with no damage? I'm now inquiring about getting a set of those if they're not astronomically priced. But I'm afraid they'll be too rich for my blood...although they would look super sweet on my Cosmic Blue!

That's so taste-specific. Most people agree that the Shinkas look better than stock RX-8 18"s, but I ain't paying a premium for just a color. Besides, I got mad brake dust on my RX-8s at the moment, enough to make them look Shinka-esque.

So what size tires will fit properly without rubbing. I don't want to roll the fenders. What is the stock RX8 tire size?

Stock tire size for the RX-8 wheels is 225/45/18. You can stick with those or go down to 225/40/18 or go up to 235/40/18. Use the wheel master tire calculator tool to give yourself an idea of what the different size will look like and how it affects your speedometer.

Our stock wheels are 18x7, +52mm, 215/45/18 and the RX-8's are 18x8, +50mm. I know some have reported that 225/45/18 and 235/40/18 rub going over bumps, people sitting in the back, or going in and out of driveway at an angle. Most of the regular Mazda 3 folks run the 225/40/18. Or some folks will use the stock RE50s if they have trea on them, but it looks stretched and offers no rim protection.

And my friend just picked up a set of Shinka RX-8 wheels for me. Should have them mounted Tuesday. Only thing wrong with them are some stain marks that the seller said wouldn't come off. I'm gonna clean them really well and see if I can get the stains out. Pic of the stains are in the last pic:

Never been a huge fan of the antler-styled rims. I think they look decent though.

Those speed3 wheels look sick. I was thinking about doing mine that color on my Black Mica. Is that gunmetal? and how much did it cost for all 4 rims?

Thanks for the tire info. I just picked up a set of RX8 take-offs from a guy who worked at a Mazda parts dept. He said they came off a new car that the dealership installed custom wheels on and only had like 20 miles on them. Perfect condition with the boxes and all. $450 and not a scratch.

Now to decide what brand and size tire to get. I'am on a budget and live in the Pacific Northwest so we see a lot of rain. Any suggestions?

I personally found mine using craigslist all search, but I had other deals fall through on eBay and RX-8 forums.

I got mine on Ebay. The seller lived about an hour away from my brother, who was nice enough to pick them up for me and then drive them to my parents' house, where I picked them up from later.
