The 350Z is way overpriced for what it is. It is essentially a "parts bin" car. The motor is the same as the V6 they use in all their other cars. It is mass produced. The S2000 and the RX8 use only parts that are manufactured for that specific car only. The 350Z should not cost anymore than $26000 for the top of the line 350Z. This is why I wouldn't buy one. They are making a killing from them. Mozda doesn't use the Renesis Rotary for any other car. Honda doesn't use the F20C for any other car. The only other car that used the same block is the RSX-S. And it only uses the block. The rest is all parts bin stuff from Honda. No other Honda or Accura car uses any of the comp0onents in the S2000, same with the RX8.

350Z=overpriced

Very true, the VQ35DE is used on pretty much everything. But how could you go wrong with 287hp :) And it's very easy to get over 300hp with out using any type of foced induction/NOS. An S2000 was my 1st choice, but not very practical since it's going to be my daily driver. Plus insurance is going to be cheaper on the Z. And even though the RX-8 is also a great car for the money, I just don't like the way it looks straight from the dealer. With a Mazdaspeed or AutoExe body kit, now that's a different story.

You can get the rx8 for $27,000 with the 6 speed and 18" wheels, the 8 is not the rx7 replacement. The 8 is a 4 door and a true 4 seater whereas the next rx7 will be a 2 seater. The S2000 is a fine car for what it is a drop top 2 seater for carving up the cayons. The 8 is for the guys who need a sports car with a back seat and 4 doors.

What delaership can offer this deal? If I can get an 8 for this cheap, I may have to cancel the order for my 350Z.

Keep in mind if you want leather, which they all have, you have to tac on a $3500 grand touring package option.
So there is basicly no way to toucha RX-8 anyone wants for under $30K

What are you talking about there is at least 6-8 of them with out leather at my bro's dealership they are going for $27,000, the one in my sig , we got for $27,000 and it has no leather.

All them at my dealer have leather and have that damn touring package whichmakes for a $31-$32K sticker. Also I hit the www.mazdausa.com website to configure one and sure enough if you want a standard and go to put leather on it, it defualts the friggen grand touring package on and it can't be removed.

err, i actually think the cloth seats in the RX-8 are quite good....

All I want is base RX-8 6sp w/ Sports pkg, and I'm happy

how much for a Sport pkg RX-8 FC3S boy?

The cloth seats are very nice and it saves quite a bit of cash, My bro has'nt got back to me yet on a price. I'll let you know when he does.

According to the website, its $27,200 for absolutly no options with a 6 spd and cloth.

I actually like the cloth better. I did want the sport package however (gotta have the Xenon lights). MSRP is $29K for a 6 spd with sport package. I might as well keep my order for the Z.

What does the Z cost?
They are stickered here for ober $33K

I'm getting mine for $1200 under MSRP. Enthusaist 6 spd with just the head airbags. MSRP is around $29,7xxx. So minus the discount + taxes/lic/fees , it will end up being just a tad over $31K

The price at the dealership around me for a RX-8 GT is $39,595 (Canadian) I guess thats about $30,500 (U.S). I guess thats not TOO bad but out of my price range :(
