RX-8 rims...

So any ideas where I can pick up a set of RX-8 rims on the cheap? I've been trolling eBay and they don't seem like the best place...

Did most people get there's on RX-8 forums? How much does a set of used 5 spokes go for anyway? Can you reuse the TPMS sensors from the stock rims? (it's my first car with TPMS)

I plan on ghosting out my car. I would PC the 5-spokes white. I just painted my emblems white this weekend, will update pics.

Thanks!

Craigslist all the time, there are a few sites that search all of craigslist or just your region, use one of those.

That's a bit expensive I think. I'm looking for something used because I'm going to be PC'ing them anyway. I would feel weird PC'ing a brand new set of wheels.

I have been patrolling RX8 club, but when they come up it seems like either it's 2 black rattle canned wheels or a brand new set. I've been searching craigslist too, but only in my area. I should expand my search!
Thanks everybody!

there is no cheap place to get them in general. you along with most of the other mazda car forums are all wanting them. the 6 guys, the 626 guys, even the probe guys want them. so the only way is to search, and search alot of places. keep an eye out on craigslist, and the rx8 forums. i found mine locally and lucked out.

yeah, sign up for craigslist notification service for your area. that way, you immediately get an email as soon as someone posts an item matching your parameters. that's how i got my wheels....called the seller within 5 minutes of his posting the ad!

agreed with above just keep looking. got mine for 325 local, had some curb rash but after a little work and paint look good enough for me.

Having been to Nebraska a few times, I'm going to venture a guess and say that the pickings are slim for RX-8 wheels in his neck of the woods, unlike SoCal or Chicago. As has been said, go to RX8Club daily and keep refreshing the classified forum.

I have a set of RX-8s sitting in my basement and plan to keep them in case I sell either the Volks or the car... but I guess I could be persuaded to part with them for the right price. ;)

Here's a question:

according to tirerack the recommended size is:
225/45-18 -- RX8 rims
215/45-18 -- MS3 rims

I'm assuming the difference in width is negligible? I need new tires anyway so if I could pick up a set of RX8 rims on the cheap and slap new tires on that'd be great.

Anyone got recommendations on a decent all-season tire? Snow in Nebraska is...bad...

forget all-season for Nebraska-like snow; go to the wheel section and see all the threads on steelies and dedicated winter tires for winter months. I use Goodyear F1 all-season high performance in the winter, but we rarely get more than 2-3 inches of snow at a time.

Last winter I ran Nitto NeoGen's all year on my s40 with 17x7 Konig Twilite's.
NBD. (wink)
JKJK, it was freakin' scary sometimes!

Seems a waste to buy a new set of snows and a set of summer tires. Maybe I'll run what I've got on now until winter and then put the snows on the stock rims for winter and when spring comes get a set of summers for my RX8's...

EDIT: After reading that thread, it seems 17" steelies are the way to go. I will likely wait until the tire places online have sales and then get a set.

I had an in town seller respond to my craigslist ad. He said he's got a set of 4 "like new" except for one has some curb.

Wants...get this...$800 for them!! I can get a reconditioned set for that!
(bicker)

i would talk to anyone you see with an rx8 most people want to upgrade rims but dont have the money and dont think they can sell theirs ive talked to a couple that would be willing to part with theirs for cheap
