Rx-8 Rims Painted Gold!!!

okay well as some of you may or may not know...i have received a set of rx-8 rims....well after long decision....i decided to paint them gold.....after long search process of finding the type of gold i was looking for......wanted something to match set of gram light rims i had seen....i finally found the right color gold....

well here are a few pics of 2 of the rims i have painted so far......neither rims has been clear coated yet....

i also took the time to paint inside the rim....as well as the outside....only part i did not paint is where the tire will sit.....no need to paint since never will be seen with tire on it....

so here are few pics

another 3 coats...lol....i already have a total of 4 coats of gold paint and 2 coats primer.....

lol...not to mention i have not even put clear coat on them yet...lol...

as for tires going on the rims...yes i will pray that they do not scuff or scratch the paiint.....

but if they do...time to whip out a paint brush and spray some of the paint in a cup...brush the paiint on the scratched/scuffed parts.....but lets pray it does not come to this

Nice choice in color and rim! I would have never dared to paint them for fear of ruining them, but great job and can't wait to see them on the car.

i wasnt to worried about ruining them....2 of the 4 rims had some scratches and small curb rash on them....so i figured if i **** the gold up...just repaint them the silver color....but turned out good...took my time though....hince only y i have 2 done.....

oh and i found the stuff i told you about...for scratches on rims....its some sort of primer sealant...found it at Pep Boys when i was looking for Primer for the rims...

sorry....was not trying to be the best photographer when i took those....i was basiclly just taking them for an update on the rims...since quit a few people on the boards helped me find the right match of gold i was looking for....

but next time i'll try harder...lol..okay?

pics of them on the car will come soon...have to order tires 1st...hopefully sometime next month
