RX-7 hybrid

yeah you have to watch out for the o-rings just as closely as you have to watch the blinker fluid level. careful careful

i swapped my blinker fluid with some DOT-10 stuff from Redline fluids...gained 100 horsepower at the wheels!

I figure what is the point in having such mystical japanese car if you are just gonna piss on it with an american v8. I saw an FD at an autocross meet and I went to check it out, I saw it had a V8 in the engine bay and I... just walked away, I didn't care about it anymore.

It would be a terrible shame to screw up the handling of the RX-7 for an over stuffed V8..

Just go get a rebuilt 20b from the J.A.Pan company and you'll never think v8 again

great idea. but, in the long run that'll probably cost you about $10-$20K for installation and tuning plus all the other parts your going to need like turbo's or a single turbo. not the most cost effective way to make big power out of a rotary but the best way for a big upgrade and to stay true to the heart of the beast.

Would you people with no rotary knowledge just keep quiet. In reference to the O-rings he is talking about the coolant o-rings or seals. The lower intake manifold seals are prone to leaking because of the high heat area they are located in. The turbos sit no farther than about 4-5 inches from them and a lot of heat plus the already massive amount of heat from the manifold tends to increase their wear quicker than say a N/A. And as far as a 20b conversion goes. It wil only run you about 3k for a motor a around 3200 for the labor. 20b's are all that rare as many people think they are . They were in thousands upon thousands of cosmos built in japan

:wtf:

this is why i believe it is MVA Motorsports offers an 800hp 20B conversion kit for the FD for the ultra low asking price of $35,000. you may want to get in contact with them and offer them motors and hardware and even your labor and start making huge profits from it.

Dude you would be insane to pay that much for one. A 3 rotor doesnt cost that much and at 800hp that motor has been severely modded. A stock 20b only puts out 320hp

Corksport carries them for $3900 and their are a few others that are around $3200
And what does that include???
A stock used J-Spec motor, in what condition???
With the stock Hitachi twins???
What about the harness, and ecu???
What about the motor mounts, are you going to hack the firewall or buy a Pettit Subframe.
Now what about bump steer???
Hows the A/C and Powersteering going to fit?
How much for the custom front mount?
How much for the custom radiator?
Which ECU are you going to use that can properly run split timing on all 3 rotors (for emission purposes)?

so find me some concrete #'s as to what a 20B conversion costs in your mind and i'll apologize but untill then

Ok, listen up guys ,, for this month and the next one only. I have decided to put a special on 3 rotor convertion. The 3 rotor convertion will cost $35,000. This will include the following.

1. 3 Rotor engine
2. Port Polished Engine
3. 3mm Rotors and apex seal
4. Dual Ball Bearing Turbo (single)
5. Front Mount Intercooler
6. Injectors
7. 2 Bosh fuel pump
8. Stainless Steal Turbo Manifold
9. Billet Intake Manifold
10. Billet Oil Pan
11. Microtech ECU
12. Bosh Coils
13. Billet Fuel Rails
14. Fuel Regulator
15. HKS Wastegate
16. BLow Off Valve
17. Intercooler Piping Alum ,(polished)
18. Down Pipe
20. Cat Back Muffer System
21. Everything Install & dyno tune
22. Clutch / Flywheel
23. Boost / Air fuel Gauge
24. Dual Stage Boost Control

Everything Is Install !!!

***If when we take the car to the dyno the car those not make 600HP to the wheel @ low boost on Pump Gas. YOU DONT PAID*****

****The Motor also make 850Hp @ high Boost , with RACE GAs

I was quoting basic costs for the motor not all the other parts needed and are we talking 2nd gen or 3rd gen swap here?. You dont need the A/c or the powersteering. $900 for a custom frount mount.$800 for radiator. Who is to say about the emissions if you live in an exempt state and im not an ecu brainiac so i would have to do some research. And yes it does include the stock twins possobility of ecu and harness( not always guaranteed) . And if you are going to be a troll like you are on the other forum than just stay off this one.

that right there is a quote taken from the add on the RX-7 forum. sure some of the things may not be neede like everything polished but everything needs to be done in moderation. you can't leave the fuel supply stock or your regular oil pan in there. granted you may be able to get the engine cheap enough and pay somebody $3k to install it but there's a bunch of s*** your leaving out that without it your going to have yourself one mighty powerful ****** paperweight

And who is going to install all of this??? Why would you want to get rid of the powersteering and A/C, doesn't that defeat the purpose???
And then I have to move to a different state in order to drive it???
Are you going to tune the thing yourself as well???
While it is cheaper and easier to do on a FC, you are still looking at $10,000 to do it right if you do most of the work yourself.
It's called being realistic. Please don't fool yourself into thinking you can get a 20B swap for anything less then $10,000.
So I'm a troll now??? Which other forum do I troll is it the one where I have 2,000 post???
I don't think I would still be around if I was a troll, thank you very much.

I have alot of good connections on parts and such so yes REALISTICALLY i could do the swap for well under 10k. And posts counts can matter for crap . sinfestboy had a high post count and was still the biggest troll ever

I would love to see you do it, and if I remember sinfest was banned was he not???
I'm sure you have great connections, the truth is its not going to happen, sorry it just won't.
Maybe your connections should get you into an economics class???
How exactly am I a troll???
Are you somehow confused on your definition of what a troll is???
I own an FD and a FC, what do you own???
I've helped other forum members with information on parts, repairs and installs, what have you done???
