Rubbing noise

Still running the stock dunlops, they have been rotated regularly and we are approaching 24,000 KM's , 11.000 miles.....the tires have decent tread still, we are hearing what sound likes a rubbing noise when we slow down around 30 kms/hr. Our bushing have been replaced with the e's when they first came out....we experianced this same sound last summer and the dealer blamed tire noise, rotated the tires and it seemed to lessen the sound somewhat.

The question is are the dunlops loud tires as they get worn and is the tire noise feasable...the noise is loud enough now that it is annoying or could it be a result of the bushing/ sway bar/ end link or other rear suspension...the noise is coming from the rear.

If they're the SP9000's, they really are that loud. My dealership went through the car and nearly replaced the entire front end. They finally found that the noise went away when they put different tires and rims on. Those dunlops were noisy as hell when they started to wear. Just remember that you should base your tread life on the inside wall of the tire, not the outside since the tires are unidirectional.:)

I would check your rear sway bar bushings. i have read about others with this squeak from the rear.

It is the rear sway bar bushings. If they have been replaced without having any grease (silicon based) applied on them they will become very dry and you will hear the rubbing noise you are hearing now. I had the same noise a couple months ago. It is even more annoying than the clunk.

Thanks guys...it is very annoying at slow speeds.....I suspect the bushings/ swaybar etc.....But the tire noise is possible...heard the noise a while ago rotated the tires and it seemed to go away.....anyway off to the dealer on sat for a drive..
