rr racing front mount inserts installed

not sure how many are using these so I thought I'd give a quick impression. I installed the inserts and fired my speed up and let it sit for a while to warm. Jumped in the car and didn't notice much of a change in vibration. Just a light vibration which was barely noticalbe at idle. I didn't pick up any kind of interior rattle, and that drives me nuts so I was really happy about that. Took the car out for a quick spin and everything felt very tight and precise. Gave it a mini romp from a stop a didn't get that hopping/ skipping feeling that you would normally get. I am very happy with these inserts. I think I ordered them on a friday or saturday and had them before the next weekend. Two thumbs(yes)

funny you should ask. I was gonna post some pics of the install for those that haven't done this yet, until I realized I lent my camera to my inlaws last week. I'll post some pics in a few days if this thread is still alive. sorry

What car do you have? It seems that those inserts don't fit with the Mazdaspeed mounts...

so there just inserts that just replace bushings?

was the install simple ?

from his previous threads it looks like he has a MSP

I own a speed. I gotta fix my info area, sorry. Inserts fit perfect. I had to trim some extra rubbery casting off of one of the mating prongs on the stock engine mounts. But its so soft you could trim it with scissors. Not much of an obsticle though

Is it just the rubber that has to be trimmed?

Not long ago I had a brake job done by a "knowledgeable" shop and I asked the to fit those inserts in the same occasion. Well, they didn't b/c according to them there was no way it would possibly fit. They charged me a hour labor for that! :(

If I could only get that side bold myself! I guess you need an impact wrench for that..

I'd consider myself a novice with wrenching on cars, so they were either on something or they might have been looking at the wrong mount. It could happen. The install was pretty easy. My impact wouldn't break that side bolt loose. Took my about 5 mins before I finally got it loose.

Bump on this thread...

I pulled the AWR 88 duro front mount today to try out the RR Racing inserts into the stock mount.

The m'fin' thing would not line up with the bolt hole. I ended up putting the stock mount in w/o the inserts....I couldn't even get the AWR back in!!

My inclination is that the engine needs to be "rocked" a bit forward to get the bolt to fit, but I'm not sure why the mount won't fit with the inserts....

Anyone with suggestions? I'll give it another shot, maybe call/email Rafi at RR Racing for some advice...
