whats up everybody?? i'm new to the forum and i must say that i love it. I've had my Speed for a little over a month and I'm extremely glad i made the purchase. Moreover, its great to see a forum with as much knowledge on this fine automobile as u guys know with the car being as fairly new as it is. Be that as it may on to may, onto my question.... I bought my car last month and I've only put 1600 miles on it. I have noticed that when when i'm cruising on the freeway at 80 mph, the car revs at 4000 rpms. to me that seems pretty high, is that normal for this car??? cuz 80 mph isn't all that fast. at 70mph its 3000 rpm. isn't about 2500-3000 normal rpm for 80mph, i compared it w/ my dads focus and moutaineer and they only rev at 2500-3000@ 80mph. i know they are different automobiles and they don't have turbo so it may be different. but i wasn't exactly sure so i wanted to ask u guys first and get your opinion before i take it to the dealer. can ya'll help me out????

The gearing on our cars aren't very long. 5th gear is not that great of an overdrive gear.

Alright Cool!!:D Thanks guys, just wanted to be sure cuz when i first saw that i was like damn that seems too high, but since that is the case, with the gears bing too short then cool, i'm not gonna worry. Thanks again.. by the way whats it mean by getting your car flashed??

Basically the car hesitates because of running too rich at 4000-5500 RPM. Getting the car flashed increases the timing and gets rid of the hesitation. If you want to get your car flashed take it to Mazda and they'll do it under warranty.
