not to rain on the OP's thread, but i did have something similar happen yesterday...
i've been out of town, so my car hadn't been driven in about 3 weeks. yesterday was very warm (about 85) so i had the a/c on as i was driving around running errands. while i was driving things were fine, but if i was slowing down coming up to a red light (2nd gear and lower, or coasting), or sitting at the light idling, if the a/c was on the car wanted to stall out the rpm's dropped so low. the only way i could prevent this from happening was to either keep my foot on the gas or turn off the a/c, which is what i ended up doing.
i don't recall it ever doing this previously when i've had the a/c on, which to be honest isn't very often. i'm very stingy about using it since it sucks so much power from the engine, not to mention increasing fuel consumption. yesterday was the first time i've used my a/c this year. can it be because the car sat for so long and then i drove it on such a hot day?
i should mention that after i had my new clutch and flywheel installed (ACT street clutch with a lightened (by about 3-4 lbs) STOCK flywheel) and egr cleaned back in March, i had some problems with a bouncing idle for a few days. the rpm's would get so low the car would stall if i didn't give it gas. seemed to correct itself after a few days, so i haven't thought much of it. could my a/c problem be related to this in any way?
