Roush vent gauge mount!

as for painting,
from the install manual:
The VentPod will reuse the factory trim ring/bezel which is secured to the stock vent with four locking tabs
(only two locking tabs for F150 customers). To remove the bezel, CAREFULLY wedge a small, flat head
screwdriver between the base and bezel locking tabs.

It still allows air to flow around the gauge. Which makes lets it still eb functional. The other way, blocked off the vent to mount the gauge.
PLus you still get to keep the stock vents aroudn if you need ot go back to stock. Cuase if you did it the other way, you woudl go buy a stock vent froma delaer and probably cost the same or more.

Uh, how is this better than putting the gauge in the factory vent? The trim is chrome and doesn't match anything and it probably has to be trimmed/sanded to fit anyways. A desk grommet from Office Depot fits absolutely perfectly in our stock vent and only requires minimal trimming on the inner surface to fit the gauge through. No painting, no fuss, no muss. Then you have the folks who complain about air blowing on the back of their gauge and say it must be blocked off. But this one clearly blows air on the back of the gauge and allows a little to pass by around the gauge rim and now everyone says "its okay" and a "better" option? Sure, sure ...

like alien said, if u look close at the pictures u can see space between the gauge and the outer ring that allows air to come out instead of blocking the vent off.

Kinda looks like what I did with my Defi gauge...

I'm subbin' too. The Mustang vents seem to have more chrome (or at least stick out more) than the F150 (which may be inset more). If this is the case, then I hope our vents are similar to a F150 so it wont stick out.

Should be in tomorrow (thurs) according to fedex. I'll update as soon as I get it. Already installed the boost gauge and have it ghetto rigged in the vent with some black foam to keep it in place.

subscribed, very interested in this... ive had a boost guage sitting in my apartment for about a month or so and not sure how i wanted to place it with the easiest way possible. if this fits im ordering one imediatly

Did you get it in? (attn) You've got half the population of the boards wanting to know more! :D

The mount is a No-Go.
First, the trim ring from the roush pops off and attaches to the pod. The mazda's is fixed. Second, the vents are slightly different sizes, the roush mount is too small. My friend with a roush is buying the mount off me, so no money out of pocket on this one. At least we know.

gauge looks great in the pod.

This gives you an idea how much smaller it is.
