Ehh..i'm not gonna vote in the one. Both are very good. It just depends on how much money you have and how much you value the brakes. I have a set of brembo slotted rotors on my miata and 40k miles later with using aggressive pads on them, they have no warppage or any deep grooves in them.

May i ask why BB kit? Performance..or just the look?

Both i like the look and i do a lot of drag racing, Im even thinking of stating autocross so i want a good set of brakes that can stop the car.

We have big brakes as the car sits. I had another driver marvel at how large my brakes were this weekend at an auto-x. Also brakes don't come into play at the drag strip :p. Learn to auto-x on the stock breaks they are more than enough. Then when you've gotten good you can put new pads, rotors, fluid, and brake lines. This will all come in at less than half the price of a big brake kit. You won't need any more brake power until you get some huge front tires and can no longer get into ABS while hard on the brakes. ABS keeps the tires from locking up so a bigger brake kit won't be able to squeeze any harder since ABS will keep the tires from locking up anyways.

Also don't forget that if you go this route you will have to make sure the new brakes will clear your front rims. I know that they don't clear the stock rims.

Honestly, I agree with the Hammer.

Hans i just posted up some opinion on the price of the stock replacement pads and or rotors from Mazda dealerships, but mostly to make statement of the quality and performance that the stockers are up to. I love brake mods but this car as stock is in well above good in my opinion. As mentioned when going to a big brake kit there are quite alot of factors to include that are over my head for sure. But i consider big brake kits either purely show, or at the other end, pure race. Just because it is pretty f'n complicated for me. But have played around a little with pads and rotors and such, and there definitely some fun to be had at the stock sizes with our big ass single pistons.

I like how Brembo is winning the poll 8 to 1. They aren't that good people! You can get them on a Cobalt stock for cryin out loud! Haha.

You don't need a big brake kit on this car. I don't even think your "need" for them on the drag strip and auto-x makes sense. A big brake kit's main benefit is repeated stops with little to no fade and this is really only apparent in a road course setting.

As others have said, the stock rotors and down to even the pads are excellent. People that have swapped in aftermarket pads like EBCs or Hawks have even complained of less than stellar brake feel compared to the stock pads.

yeah a Cobalt that is much more car than ours. they get 300whp with just a tune.

Tune our cars and a real aggressive tune can get close to that too. Their main advantage is less weight. 2950lbs I think. We weigh in at 3150. I'm going to try and get down to that type of weight.

16.5lbs rims with 21 lbs tires = 70 lbs just off the wheels
Remove all the junk like mats, spare tire, jack, and tools= roughly 50 lbs

Thats what I've got done so far so I'm at about 3030lbs.

Lightweight racing seats for front two seats and a lightweight battery should get me somewhere close to my goal.

You will only get fronts for the Brembo package so add the price of rears to the Brembo package.

I was also making a joke at the Cobalt not the quality of Brembo brakes. I do believe they are only two pistons on the Cobalt though.
