Rotaries band from LeMans

Stupid Ferrari ... and Porshe and Audi ... hehe. All scared of the power and reliability of rotary engines.
FIA sux.

I don't think all rotaries were banned just the bad ass 26b 4 rotor you can still use a 3 rotor but no one does

wtf, how can you just ban an engine like that? If it has its merits, why not let them be demonstrated, thats bs. It doesn't have the interest of the consumer or advancement of cars at heart.

Because none of the top-running manufacturers know how to build rotaries and they're too scared of having their luxury brands be defeated by a little manufacturer from Japan. :)

Although I think AutoEXE was running a 4-rotor last year at LeMans but in a different class, and they weren't exactly on a threatening pace.

sorry there are a few guys runing in diff. classes that still use the 3 rotor at le mans they just did'nt do very well

i believe mazda holds the patent on wankle engines when they merged/ acquired the wankle company, so legally nobody else can produce them.

Just in the case of the 787.If rotary ruled in track racing then the REamemiya RX-7 would be dominating GT300 in JGTC, but unfortunately it's not.

lol.... u got me there?

I dunno if there are weight requirements for GT300.
IF there is, then it is removing the advantage of rotary. If there isnt, then 787B was a marvel back then.
