Roof Rack Removal

Hello everyone on the Mazda forums. I am new here on the Mazda forums and so far found it very informative and useful! =D Anyways I bought my 2002 P5 about 2 months ang and so far I have been siked about it. The only thing that bothers me bout the car is the roof rack. I want to know how to remove it. Anybody know a step by step process on taking the roof rack off? The picture below pretty much shows what i am looking for. Also if you can provide an estimate quote on everything that i would need that would be great.

this will get you mostly there with pictures. you are basically pulling out all the pilliar trim, rubber seals around the door frames, etc so you can get the headliner out of the car. took me about an hour when i did it in february. you just need to find the metal strips that fill the roof channels after the rack is removed. I did a trade with someone for mine. sent him my rack and he gave me the filler strips.

so you know P5 fan, the canadian and us roof racks were different. The us version apparently doesn't work on your canadian model. assuming it's a canadian model. I've been scouring the forum looking for a roof rack too, and I saw someone in ontario who's trying to get rid of a us one. thought you might want that tidbit.
