Rishie's FITMENT RECIPE

Not tucked...18" tires cost too much for me to bust out that kind of camber. :D Pretty damn low, though.

1st question though is, the lower the offset the more the tires will stick out correct? So if i get one too high, pushing them in farther, I can just then mill out some spacers to put them exactly where i need them.
usually it's the lower offset that causes problems, not higher - unless it's really high, and yes, spacers would help in that situation.

the problem is with lower offset, wheels are pushed further outside, on a lowered car, the tyre might rub the inside of the fender.

too high offset the tyre might rub the strut.

That looks really good. What is the offset on your rims? And do you have room to move them in more or are you about rubbing the strut?

I would love that look, just in a bit more so they tuck

hey, quick question. If I get a 16x7 rim that has a +42mm offset, what size tire will work best and will there be any rubbing. This is for an 02 sedan.

how about this size: 5x114.3 with an offset of +42mm.
any fitment problems on a P5 with eibach prokits or goldlines?

im sure the answer to my question is in this thread somewhere, but im not going to read 18 pages to find it. since my answer was on the first page, im just going to ask. my question is similar to capnsavem's....

i have a set of 17X7's with a +42mm offset which im planning to mount 205/40/17 tires on. im also looking into getting some espelir springs at some point so my question is, will i have a rubbing issue?

im not too confident about it after reading most of the posts pertaining to +42 offsets on the p5.

your answer is i think is the red below :)

Mazda Protege5 fitment guide

215/40/17; 215/35/18
-------------
7.0" +45 and higher
7.5" +48 and higher

205/40/17
-------------
7.0" +42 and higher; Barely making it
7.5" +48 or higher, the +45 still worries me with this width on a 205.

i read that, and i understand it. but does that pertain to stock suspension height or is that with lowering springs.

the first page is very vague and says nothing about the fitments if the car is lowered.

yea cuz im thinking about getting some rims with an 42 offset and just wondering if i will be able to lower it

i think he did his testing on a p5 that was about 2in lowered if i remember correctly -- so i would guess it to be fairly accurate --

Oh -- here is part of a the quote from the first page ---- that says --------->

We are a tuning shop and therefore specialize in certain performance oriented vehicles. Therefore do multiple fitments on the same vehicles with different wheels and so forth. We weigh them loaded and unloaded, tires and wheels. It's some good info to base your decisions on.

it then goes on to say that this is No bulls*** thread --- So YES i would say its pretty accurate (drinks)

ahh, sweet. thanks bones. maybe rishee should add that in the first post to help clarify.

Man, I started reading this thread to see if my question would be answered, but it is getting too long to try to sort everything out.

I am running a P5 and looking to upgrade the rims/tires. The car is not lowered yet, but I plan to go with the Eibach Pro when I do. I am looking at some 17x7 with 45mm offset, with 205/45/17 . Would this package work for fitment? Could I even go to a 215/40/17?

17X7 +45 should work

however, 205/45/R17 is too big comparing with stock size

U should try 205/40/R17 or 215/40/R17, the latter a better match size-wise.

Hi, I saw a wheel for sale and was wondering if it might fit. It's a 15x7 w/ a +35 offset. I was thinking about it for autox since I'm running a 15x6 w/ a +40 offset right now and if I can go wider, I'd love it. I'm running Sprint springs on MSP struts right now, switching to GC coilovers in the next month.
