rim fitting/size

would that cause any rubbing? main concern is fender rub with 205/50/16. mray what do u have on ur car now? and what is a better fit for 205 50 15? 6.5 or 7?

Just a passing thought. Watch out for the weight on the tires. It can be all over the place and heavy tires will hurt acceleration and braking. Any increase in tire diameter will also slow you down when accelerating.

they will fit fine. even with a more aggressive drop lowering spring.. Racing beat is not going to drop your car very much at all. i personally would go at least with the 15x7 with the 205 tire.
 
Well that will vary dependent on the size of the tire obviously but even same size tires do vary in weight and I don't think any one tire mfr will be lighter than all others...

As an example I was looking at Eagle GTs for my P5 but wound up buying Conti Extreme Contac DWs instead. One, I opted to go with a summer performance tire since I had snow tires in the shed and two, weight.

If weight is a concern then just do some research. Tirerack doesn't sell every tire out there but they have a big selection and give all those stats for each one so not a bad place to start.
 
weight of tires doesnt really concerns me thats why im sticking with a 15 diameter rims for accelaration width wise i just want it to be wider so i can get a better grab of the road. what really concerns me is when i lower the car will it butterfly and create an uneven wear. also I was browsing thru the how-to section and there was a thread regarding TPMS. does this mean i have to deal with the TPMS light if i replace the rims? assuming the tpms doesnt fit the rim
 
Good point but have you seen elfhearse's thread? He is running some 15" 949racing 6ULs which are lightweigt but due to the weight of the Bridgestones he choose actually increase his weight by 6lbs per corner!

You don't need the TPMS but if possible I'd say it's worth getting them swapped if possible. My wife's winter wheels do not have TPMS so I just placed a small piece of electrical tape on the gauge cluster to cover the light. Now that the summer wheels are back on, I simply removed the tape.

again if your going with the Racing Beat springs there is a very minimal drop and your camber will not go nuts or anything...you will most likely need an alignment after installing the springs and the wheels and tires (at least i would recommend it). if you car gets a more aggressive camber they can always fix that in the alignment, but trust me it will not be anything crazy, you should have fine even treadwear.

as for the TMPS yes you will have to deal with the light on if you dont have them in the new wheels...doesnt bother me too much but as mentioned above you can always cover it with a black sticker or tape.
 
The Sparco's are nice as well as the 5zigen's. IIRC the Sparcos are nice and light as well.

and I can feel it...a drop of ~ 1 MPG and slightly slower based on the "butt-o-meter". The RE-11's are great tires but are heavier than the competitors, the 205's are 24lbs, NOT 21lbs. as listed on the Tirerack site. (you've been warned)

what do u mean low pressure? so far im leaning towards konig cuz of price, buddy club is ridiculous expenssive and the main reason was TSUNAMI which its a shame that distributor using clamaity issue to raise the prices. shop is a shop they need to make money but its the distributor price increase thats irritating me. quality wise sparco is a lil bit more than konigs and cheaper than buddy club its just that sparco is missing the RED LIP i wanted

i know it kindda defeats the purpose of me buying this car, sold my 94 stang gt to save money on gas and now here i go with compromising mpg with looks and i made up my mind with tires im going with dunlop direzza dz101 tho i havent decided if i should go with 195 or 205

ur actually the reason y i started looking at sparco and pricing wise sparco is cheaper but a better brand compare to buddy club however the sparco does not have the RED lip i wanted. and i was happy with my old sparco rims til sum1 stole my old civic in vegas car was in pieces but the rims remaind tacked cuz the old sparco i had, had multiple locks CENTER CAP lock and wheel locks so they werent able to steal the rims.
 
I had the Direzza dz101 on my 2004 GTO. I took them off and sold them. You come from 5.0 world were power is what you mod for.

On these light weight cars the fun is in the handling so why pick a mediocre tire. It doesn't get below freezing in San Jose so a summer only tire does work.
My buddy with a Miata Speed uses the Toyo Proxes R1R as his DD rain or shine flying down 280.

I'd do the AD08 as well. I'm going to use them on my GTO once the Nitto Invo's are gone.

BTW I also have a 1984 Mustang Convertible 5.0 for a fun.
