Despite Jeffersons best effort to lose going 0/7 on field goals and 0/4 on 3 pointers, we still managed to beat Greece thank god. I say give Lebron more time. With half the playing time of Jefferson he was 5/6 on field goals.

Lebron tore up greece today......along with Iverson.

USA Basketball has competition this year(usa)

Only in the NBA can a player like Richard Jefferson get 70sumthin mil'?
He is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo OVERRATED!
Nets should have traded him for someother quality player

Man, he kept shooting 3s and kept missing them. Also, the 5th foul called on Tim Duncan was completely BS.

Overrated...he was a key player when the nets went back to back nba finals...but he has 2 bad games and is overrated...who didn't have a bad game the first game. And what does Lebron have to do with Jefferson when it comes to playing time. If you guys actually watch basketball, not just listen to the announcers, you would realize that Jefferson plays small forward and Lebron plays shooting guard. If you take jefferson out you put in Marion or Odom or Melo. They can play the 3-spot. Lebron either runs the point or the 2, and then if you want him in you gotta take out Iverson. Lebron had 1 good game, and Jefferson should sit now??? When you guys have some real knowledge, not just look at some numbers, then talk...

I don't care, and I realize he plays another position and has the best NBA shooting average on the Olympic team. I haven't seen Jefferson play much in the NBA, but I have watched him the past two games. Maybe he is off his game, but he is way off. He clanked a shot off the side of the back board against puerto rico. Oh and he is even left wide open, but why bother when you play 27 minutes come up with 0 points and go 0/11?

So if shaq had 2 bad games you would dismiss him....Jefferson is a great player, but he struggled the first 2 games. Like I said before, who actually played a good game the first one. SO what if he had a bad game, all pros do. MJ had a bad game or 2, so he should sit??? Honestly, there aren't too many dominant small forwards in the NBA, and those that are wouldn't come to the games. Jefferson has a lot of talent, he can beat anyone baseline, and has a great penetration move, but the plays aren't drawn up for that. So as I say again, say something intelligent on why Jefferson should sit and i will buy into it, but to say that Lebron had a good game and should get more playing time is rediculous. How many players in the NBA had a good game or two and didn't become an instant starter?????

You can't be perfect every night. So what if he clanked a shot. How many people on the team have shot airballs?? Why bother when you play 27 minutes and have no points. Because you can help a team with different ways then points. He fits into the starting lineup, and let that be...

Alright, you make some good points. But this olympics is getting pretty close to 1 and done. We may be able to lose another game, but not two, and make it to the medal rounds. I know guys have bad games and perform better, but if he is cold, or his confidence is rattled... there is no time for him to snap out of it. I hope that you prove me wrong though and he starts sinking some jumpers.

RJ plays better defense than most. You should talk about Stephon- he should be sitting more than anyone on the team! And AI didn't play great he was 4/14 or something like that!
RJ is a better shot than Marion, Marion is good on defense and slashing to the basket. RJ should have a good game soon, he deserves the money he got unlike players like Okur, Adonal Foyal, Shawn Bradley and terrible big men!
Stop hating on RJ! I don't see T-Mac, Jermaine O'Neal, Ben Wallace, Ray Allen here playing for the USA.
The USA should have brought a pure shooter with them someone like Wally or Hoiberg!

I wish that Rip Hamilton tookthe spot that Larry Brown fought for him to get. Larry Brown begged and pleaded for Hamilton to get on the team, and when the committee asked Rip he said no. He would have been perfect for this team, with his excellent shooting skills. Even someone like Barry or Kittles, a 2 guard with good range, would help. I really don't know how far they are gonna go, but if they play all out they should still win the gold...

RIP would have been perfect! Awesome work habit! Great defender and good shooter
But another one of the guys that said NO!

Rip would be good. I posted right after I saw the Greece game and was all fired up that they almost lost again. This is what SI says about Jefferson,

Much of the heat for America's bad play against zone defense will rain down on the head of forward Richard Jefferson, who has so badly missed all 13 of his 3-point shots that he may become the sixth O ring on the Olympic logo. I feel for Jefferson because he's a good all-around player who was not added to the team for his perimeter marksmanship. But he's facing a dilemma. He doesn't want to shoot -- and Brown doesn't want him to shoot -- but teams are sloughing so far off of him that he it's almost embarrassing when he doesn't take the shot. The best solution is to put him on the bench until he finds his touch.

See, that has some good points, but how do you find your touch when you are sitting on the bench...You have to keep shooting, and they will fall...
