The install was not to bad. It only took 6.5 hrs and because I've done the dp and manifold before this was a cinch. But, I'm so pist. I checked everything before i went for a drive. I had lost some fluid but I doubled checked everything it was fine. I let the car car idle for 10 mins and then I went on a easy 12 mile trip. After that i got on her a little but nothing past 5lbs. Then on the way back I heard this noise, chatter. Now i've got this rattle through the clutch. I've got no clue what to do!!! My a/f were right on!!! The car still boost, pulls, and shifts. I just don't know what to do!!!help some one help

you need to go get some dynos!

after you figure out the issues, anyway. I don't know how to help, but congrats on the install!
Hopefully you figure it out.

I can say this if this is something serious caused by the reworked turbo I would deff. hold protege garage responsible that is why they have insurance. Also I dont think they will sell to many of these if it is something serious. Im sorry man that really stinks to spend all that money and time to have this happen.

I understand that people think it shouldnt work that way but come on this is the first reworked turbo they released and right after the guy installs it he now might have a serious problem on his hands. Ken is a great guy and he is full of tons of knowledge and he has talked up this reworked turbo since day 1 and said its awesome and full proof basically. If this turns out to be a serious problem I think protege garage should do something to help the guy out.

did you bend a rod? I bent a rod and it sounded almost like that. It might have been a more violent juttering and clank than yours.

Sounds just like what a collapsed lifter sounds like...too bad you have an overhead Cam.

Wow....Is it in the motor...or have you checked.
Could it be in the turbo itself?

I still say its a pully thats lose or something I had a pulley lose on my car and made the same sound and when i hit the gas it got louder and louder freaking pulley almost fell off on mine. At idle his car is clicking way louder than normal our disi deff. doesnt make a sound like that at idle. or maybe timing chain im kinda stumped.

he should take the serpentine belt off and turn all his pulleys by hand and if one clicks then he found the problem if not well atleast thats ruled out it really doesnt take long to take it off. Plus start the car with the belt off it will run and if u dont hear that clicking sound at idle then u know its not a motor noise atleast.

never know. I had a loose header before and could hear every time the valves opened/closed. sucks if its the turbo...hope it works out!
